I’ve only just realize that I have not paid Puchong a visit in almost 2 years. Wowza 😱😱. Not really a surprise though as it coincides with the time Covid hit us, which was followed by interstate/ interdistrict travel ban and as well as the 10 km movement limit. Now that what was not possible, is possible … I decided to have lunch at a new cafe in Puchong.
Luckee Canteen is a newly opened cafe located in Pusat Bandar Puchong, that has been in operation for the past 4 months. It’s cozy, welcoming and warm. As you enter the cafe, you’d be greeted with a mannequin in sight. It certainly catches you by surprise because it does not go with the sleek white theme they had going on … but somehow, it fits 😁
It certainly was a cool place to sit and chill. You can pick your own corner, sit and simply enjoy the ambiance. I certainly did, even more so with the music they had goin on. It’s worth a mention. How many cafes have you guys been to that plays English oldies? 60’s hits? Almost never, right? Hits like Misty by Johnny Mathis and etc. It sets an entirely different mood compared to current day music. A refreshing change indeed.
My friend got really excited when he saw the bike displayed at the entrance. Apparently this particular design was a major hit back in the 70s. Yea, what do I know… I was not even born yet at that time, so all I can do was nod in agreement, lol.
LUCKEE’s Fried Chicken Rice, RM 18 + Spaghetti Thai Basil Pesto with Grilled Chicken, RM 23 + Truffle fries, RM 8
This was one of their popular dishes and it tasted good. It was an omurice, if I am not mistaken. Rice with a layer of egg wrapped around it.
Together with the omurice, there was 4 pieces of crispy fried chicken and cucumber, tomatoes. Yummmm.
The spaghetti was awesome. The taste of pesto was evident and with some cheese sprinkle, tomatoes and tender, juicy grilled chicken, it made for a tasty plate of noodles. Texture-wise, the pasta was thick and oily, just how I like it. Oily but not to a point where the pasta was soaked in it.
This I ordered just because. I was not hungry but I felt like munching on some fries regardless 🙂. It was yummmmmy. Perfectly cooked fries – crispy outside, soft inside, with truffle oil sprinkle, grated cheese sprinkle. 😍
