Dร o @ Damansara Jaya – Tasty soy desserts ๐Ÿ˜

I was in Atria for brunch, catching up with some friends after 2 years of being apart. Fast forward 4 hours later, we said our goodbyes and I was in the mood for some desserts … not cakes in particular but more of the tau fu fah variety. This area has an abundance of food and desserts, so many choices, there is bound to be something I fancied.

I drove around for a bit and eventually came across Dao. A quick check online suggested that they serve the kind of desserts I was in the mood for.

Menu

Sundร o Sundae Cone, RM 4.30

Oooo yummy. A perfect dessert to fulfill my dessert craving for the day. If you like soy, you’d loveeee this sundae cone. I initially thought that this would just be a soy dessert with some basic soy flavoring but nope. It literally felt like I was drinking soya in soft serve form because that was what it was. Soft, dense, milky, gooey and packed with flavor from start to finish, with the right amount of sweetness. So goooood. Me like.

Beancurd with Ginger syrup and Glutinous balls, RM 6.50

Since I enjoyed the soft serve tremendously, I decided to also give their beancurd a try. Upon enquiring, I was told that the option with Ginger syrup and red bean/black sesame paste was popular. I opted for the ginger syrup option and also requested for an add on of glutinous balls.

You’d get quite alot of beancurd in one serving.

As you can see, it is served in quite a large container and the beancurd makes up 3/4 of it. The ginger syrup was basically ginger + sweetness and it provided that extra ‘kick’ to the beancurd as a whole. As I am someone who likes strong, distinct flavors, I’d request for an extra serving of that syrup the next time I visit. Overall, I enjoyed the beancurd as much as I did the soft serve. The adding of the glutinous balls was a smart choice as it provided me something chewy in an otherwise soft, jello-like dessert. Loved it.

If I am in the area again and in the mood for some soy desserts, I’d certainly keep Dao in mind.
