I saw a video on this restaurant making its round on Facebook and it looked enticing enough that I decided to go and give it a trylah ππ . It serves “Nasi Padang ala Malaysia”. I was just curious on wether the deliciousness I can sense from the video was real or not in reality.
So, off I went to Subang Parade to visit Warung Nelayan.

Well, contrary to the video I saw that basically showed a full packed restaurant, on the day of my visit – the restaurant was empty. I visited during lunch hour and besides the few customers that came in later on who most probably worked nearby, it was just us. Good thing as we ended up having the place all to ourselves. So we took our time looking through the menu as well as their mix rice section before deciding on what to eat.

Menu

Nasi Goreng Nelayan, RM 15.90 + Nasi Campur

According to the waiter, this was their most popular fried rice and oooo, it was tasty. It tasted similar to a Nasi Goreng Kampung, just a little different. Besides the rice, the dish also came with a serving of fried chicken thigh, 2 sticks of chicken satay, sambal hijau and crackers. Overall, it was good, I liked it. For RM 15.90, I thought it was q good deal.

This was your typical Nasi Campur. I saw their selection and picked the items I wanted and then, ‘hantam’. What I took was a serving of brinjal, cabbage, tempe and fish, with a serving of red and green sambal. It was an okay dish, I was not in love with it like I did the fried rice.
Would I be back here? I most likely wont be back. Firstly because I very, very rarely visit this mall and secondly, I seem to only like the fried rice so far, which is a dish I can find served at a restaurant closer to where I live as oppose to having to drive all the way to Subang Jaya.
