Black Nasi Lemak Chicken curry puff Open Daily Pastries Scones Subang Jaya

Lisette’s Cafe & Bakery @ Subang Jaya – a good time πŸ™‚

I did not know that Lisette’s opened a second outlet. It was only a week ago when a collegue suggested lunch there that I knew of it. This is good news as the Bangsar outlet is almost always full, every day. Simply walking in without reservation and hoping to get a spot immediately is highly unlikely. I was also curious about the setting and ambiance, there obviously is plenty of love for its interior and exterior. Would they be replicating it or would it be something entirely different?

Yea, it is similar but a little different too. Still cosy and welcoming though. We arrived during lunch hour and it was full house. As we did not make a reservation, we ended up waiting outside for 10 minutes and eventually, got a table. Considering no one was moving/leaving, they were nice enough to give us a spot at the long table inside meant for a larger group.

**They are opened daily but are closed for the day.

So, do look up their social media to keep yourself updated.

Menu

Plain Scone with cream &jam, RM 10 + Curry Puff Chicken, RM 12

Well, it goes without saying that while the pastries were somewhat pricy, it tasted good. I especially liked the scone. It was delicious. Soft and dense, not too crumbly, buttery with the right amount of sweetness, a good amount of raisins. Yummy. The Chicken Curry Puff was pretty tasty too. However, it was not my favorite. It simply isnt my cup of tea, I suppose

Once I was done with the pastries, we then moved on to a proper lunch meal.

Black Rice Nasi Lemak, RM 28

Yup, I enjoyed this dish too. The black rice reminded me of pulut, not as sticky but somewhat sweet …. or was it my imagination? πŸ€”πŸ€” I especially liked the prawn sambal. It was spicy with a little sweetness. The sambal came with 2 medium sized prawns. Wish there were more though because it was yummy. The dish also comes with a serving of chicken curry. There were several pieces of boneless chicken + potato. Between the two, my favorite still is the prawn sambal.

Would I head back here? Yea, I would. Food is on the pricier end but I’ve always enjoyed my time at Lisette’s – both of it. If I am in the area, I’d drop by.
