Affordable Assam Fish Rice Cheras Good Food Marinated Cold Shredded Chicken New 2021 Nyonya Nyonya cuisine XO Chicken Rice

KL Bunga Raya @ Cheras – Ooo yummy 😍😍

Ever since this restaurant opened a few months back, I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about them. My friends who have eaten here have been raving about how good the food here is as well as its affordable price tag.

Since I was in the area for the day after a quickie Chrismas get-together in the morning, the two of us decided to drop by KL Bunga Raya for lunch.

Customer service was great. As soon as we entered, we were greeted. After we sat, we were immediately attended to. There were so many good things on their Menu that we needed some help deciding. They were quick in providing suggestions as well as explaination. It was a pleasant experience.

Parking: This restaurant is located on the Ground floor of a residence. Surrounding this building, there are parking spots available. If all is occupied, they have a basement carpark. We got lucky after a couple of rounds. Managed to get a spot directly outside the restaurant, parked for free. πŸ™‚

Menu

Marinated Cold Shredded Chicken, RM 12

I usually forego starter/entree, unless it was something I was interested in. In this case, not only was it a recommended dish, several of my friends mentioned it too. A MUST orderlah. Sedap ooooo, sooo sedap 😍😍. If someone were to make me this salad daily, I’d eat vegetables everyday dedicatedly, guaranteed. My momma will be sooo proud of me. Cucumber, carrots, peanuts, senkuang, shredded chicken and many more. It had a variety of texture – soft, chewy, hard, crunchy and etc. Every mouth you take, there was a pleasant sweetness to it with a little sourness from lemon zest. Me loved it πŸ‘Œ

Signature XO Chicken Rice, RM 14.90 + egg, RM 1.50

This was da’ bomb. If you guys read the Google reviews/ratings on KL Bunga Raya, you’d find several positive mentions of this dish and I do agree with them – this dish was indeed delicious. To be honest, the two of us expected to see the usual chicken rice and so when this dish first arrived, we were momentarily surprised. Upon tasting it though, I’d have this version of chicken rice any day.

The XO chicken consisted of a generous portion of bonesless chicken that was nicely coated with sauce that tasted similar to Kung Po chicken – which I loveeee. With the addition of crispy curry leaves and onions, the XO chicken was finger lickin’ good. The egg was optional. I usually like eating rice with some sort of gravy, just to add in some wetness. As there is no gravy here, the egg was helpful. The bullseye was cooked in a way whereby the yolk was still runny, which assisted in providing some gooeyness to the dish overall.

Nyonya Assam Fish, RM 14.90

This was another recommended dish and it was gooooood. The taste of turmeric was evident in the assam gravy, which I liked. It made it all the more flavorful. With it came 5 large pieces of boneless fish and brinjal, ladies finger, pineapples. Perfect it was. Eating it with the rice was awesome.

Would I head back here? I certainly will. I had an awesome visit to KL Bunga Raya and I’m looking forward to another visit soon.
