Thai Bro @ Jalan Kamunting, Chow Kit – Tasty Thai food.

Hellooooo, peeps. Happy New Year 😁😁. Hope 2022 is a good year for all of us. I spent New Years lining up at a PPV and getting my booster shot. Besides being tired and sleepy, I feel perfectly normal. An awesome way to start the year … zzzzz all day 🀣🀣 and two days later, still zzzzzzz. So sleepy

Anyways, today for lunch we dropped by Thai Bro, a 2 week old Thai restaurant located along Jalan Kamunting, the same area that also houses Tapestry and Woo Pin.

PARKING: There is an open carpark around the block, barely a 5 minutes walk, no sweat, at a rate of RM 3 per hour.

If you guys are familiar with the area, this particular shoplot used to be myNEWS, now its Thai Bro. As you can see, this eatery occupies two floors and everything is well spaced out. I liked the earty tone interior, the bright blue chairs … a rather soothing combination. We arrived at 11.55 am and was the first ones there. Fast forward 15 minutes later, the Ground floor was already fully occupied. Thai Bro sure is a fan among the working folks nearby.

Menu

Menu is rather limited but who cares if food is good, right? Whatever I ordered was tasty, so the lack of options did not matter much.

Tom Yam Petai Fried Rice, RM 15.90

Among the three petai fried rice, this was apparently the most popular, which was fine with me. It has two items I like – petai and tom yam. I also fancy fried rice with a slightly dense texture, thanks to the runny yolk from the egg bullseye. It was yummy and flavorful. Tom yam flavor was evident, just how I like it. The fried rice was a generous portion size with plenty of meat.

Stir Fried Minced Pork with Basil Leaves, RM 12.90

Again, a nice portion time, lots of minced meat. Many times, elsewhere, for some reason the meat ends up being extra salty. Perhaps it is aitomatically assumed that the minced meat will only be eaten with ricr and not on its own. Me, while I like it with rice, I also enjoy eating it just as it is and it is possiblr here because the saltiness was not overwhelming. It was delicious, tasted rather authentic 😍

Pandan Water, RM 1.50 + Thai Milk Tea, RM 6

Loveeee these ol’ school cups. It has been ages since I’ve seen one. Takes me back to my younger days, good memories. Both drinks were good. The Thai Milk Tea was πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ, it was a cup of awesome Teh Tarik. Me like lots. The Pandan Water is self explainatory, Pandan flavored water. A nice, refreshing drink.

Would I head back here? If I am in the area and fancy some Thai food, why not πŸ™‚. I had a pleasant experience here.
