GRIT @ Ara Damansara - A surprising find

Ara Damansara is an area I rarely visit. Most of my visits are limited to Citta Mall and Oasis for work meets. Once in a blue moon, I’d visit some cafes here, always planned ahead.

This time however was not planned. We ended up in the area after taking a wrong turn, our stomachs rumbling in hunger. So, we drove around for a bit and eventually turned into a business area of sorts. Here, we came across GRIT. It was a rather surprising find because this did not seem like an area that houses many eateries or mayb it was just my assumption, being a newcomer and all. 😁

I liked the setting. We dropped by after lunch hour. So, it was quiet and we had the place all to ourselves. GRIT was cosy and welcoming. If I live in the area, this could very well be one of my go-to in the neighborhood. A peaceful setting with good food. Customer service was great, they attended to us as soon as we sat and was helpful in providing suggestions.

Homemade Pork Burger, RM 30

The burger was yummy. The homemade pork patty was thick and juicy. It was a ultimately a simple burger – with a patty, aioli, lettuce, tomato and burger buns but the homemade patty tasted really yummy. It elevated a simple, basic burger to an awesome one. The dish also came with a good serving of curly fries and slaw.

Would I be back here? Yes, I would. I have now found a place to ‘lepak’ at that is away from the generic mall or other usual areas. To me, GRIT has a hidden element to it. As mentioned early on, this is not an area a newcomer like me would assume a cafe is located at. It has plenty of workshops and offices, a cafe in the midst of it was a surprising find. I’d love to give one of their rice bowls a try next.
