I had a short catch-up session with a friend at Lot 10 very recently. Initially intending to have lunch at the popular Hutong Food Court, we dicovered Eggbeast while on our way there. It is all about sandwiches here, breakfast sandwiches.
This eatery is located on the Ground floor, at the lobby, on the outside. Parking was easy, we parked at the available carpark in Lot 10, at a rate of RM 5 for 3 hours.

Eggbeast occupies a rather small space, perhaps aiming for a ‘Grab and Go’ kind of thing? All order are made fresh, no prepackaged food here. As you can see, there are limited seatings. Since there weren’t much people, the both of us decided to sit in and enjoy the food, ambiance. The seating position allows you to look out and people watch, which I enjoy doing in my free time. It was a nice way to relax and keep me entertained until my food arrived.
Menu

Moroccan Lamb, RM 18 + Balsamico Chicken, RM 16

These sandwiches were delicious ππ. I decided to go for the Morrocan Lamb. Have you guys tasted Indian mutton varuval?? When done right, the texture is just about right, cooked well enough that the continous, neverending chewing wont happen and taste awesome thanks to the right spices used … yea, the Moroccan Lamb here taste just like that. It was yummy. The brioche buns were fluffy, buttery and with the addition of a bullseye egg and lettuce, made up a really good sandwich.
The Balsamico Chicken was what my friend went for. I thought this would be a bitter-ish sandwich due to the balsamic vinegar but to my suprise, it ended up being a tasty one. The chicken patty was perhaps cooked in balsamic vinegar but when served with buttery brioche buns and a good portion of caramelized onions, ended up tasting delicious. This combination sure was a winning one.
Norwegian Smoked Salmon,RM 17

Just before leaving, we decided to get ourselves one more sandwich to share for dinner. I was told that the Norwegian Smoked Salmon was a popular choice and we went with that. This particular sandwich, compared to the other two we had, can fill you up rather quickly. Imagine having cured salmon served with a generous portion of cheesy scrambled egg – that is a ‘filling on top of filling’ combo. I am someone who likes eating my meals layer by layer, I tend to enjoy the dish more that way. Eating the salmon on its own was a bad idea because of its saltiness but when eaten with the egg and brioche bun, the saltiness was not evident at all. The other ingredients end up toning it down. A good sandwich overall, best eaten on an empty stomach.
Would I head back here? Yes, I would. If I am in the area, I’d drop by. Customer service was great, food was good.
