Proper Cafe @ Lucky Garden, Bangsar - Some quiet amidst the busyness

Recently, my friends and I had a catch up session in Bangsar. I know this particular area has lots to offer in terms of food, an array of selections available. As a result, there are lots of people everywhere. Shops along Jalan Kemuja, Jalan Telawi, Lorong Maarof, Lorong Ara Kiri .. everywhere lots of people. We were all pretty sure that this time, we wanted to forego the crowd, find somewhere quiet to hang out. We drove around for a while and eventually stumbled upon this cafe.

Proper Cafe is a small, quiet cafe that seemed like it suddenly popped up out of nowhere. I am always in the area but I somehow missed its existence. Located in Persiaran Ara Kiri, it is just a few doors away from Klinik Pergigian Bandar and within walking distance from Portofino and Bala’s Banana Leaf. At that point in time, it was just us, we had the place all to ourselves, which was great.

Carrot Cake, RM 15

As I was the first to arrive, I decided to order myself a slice of carrot cake before the rest arrived. It was nice, not too sweet with bits of carrot in it as well as a good sprinkle of cinnamon. Texture was soft and dense with some crunchy nuts.

This cafe is perfect for some alone time. In the future, if I am on my own for the day and want some quiet time, just sipping on a cup of coffee, watching cars drive by, be left alone … I’d consider Proper.
