Estate Coffeehouse @ Taman Midah, Cheras - Good stuff

We recently visited this new cafe in Taman Midah. At first glance, it sure does stand out. It occupies a corner lot within a quiet, dated row of shops. In contrast to the rest, Estate Coffeehouse in particular paints a modern picture with its chic, industrial design.

We visited shortly after lunch hour and so, while it was still crowded, most of them were on their way out. As a result, we did not have to wait long for a table, we were seated within 5 minutes.

While waiting, I checked out their bakery area. It was right there at the entrance, I couldn’t resist.

Soon enough, we were told that our table was ready and was led to it. Considering the fact that these guys were new, they handled it like a pro. It was crowded but there was no delays. They took our order in time, provided recommendation when we needed it and food arrived right on time.

While waiting for food to arrive, we had a little chat with a gentleman that handles the operations here and found out some interesting information. You guy know of the popular restobar in Changkat Bukit Bintang called Rabbit Hole?? The Rabbit Hole @ Changkat Bukit Bintang – A new look (pork free) Yup, Estate Coffeehouse is run by the same folks behind that restobar. It shares the same concept too. A restaurant by day, a bar by night. 8 am till 4 pm, you’d be served proper breakfast and lunch meals and beyond 4 pm, this becomes a bar by The Beer Factory, with drinks and the usual bar food. Cool, ey?

Nasi Lemak Bertingkat, RM 23.90 + Ultimate Cheese Melt, RM 31.90

The Nasi Lemak Bertingkat is your regular nasi lemak with the addition of toasted shredded coconut. There was a fried egg, lots of kacang, anchovies, sambal – which I truly liked 😁 and with the ‘ayam berempah’ made this a heathy, filling meal.

The Ultimate Cheese Melt was a grilled cheese sandwich with turkey ham and beef bacon. It was yummy, lots of melted cheese with a good portion of meat. Besides that, there was also a serving of fries and ranch dip. The presentation was awesome, seeing the purple and yellow flowers was pleasing to the eye.

…. with every main meal ordered, certain drinks are half priced. We made full use of it by ordering 2 cups of coffee. (I am not sure how long this promotion is on for. )

Iced Latte, RM 6.45 + Ice Latte with Oreo, RM 8.95

Both drinks were nice. I am not a big coffee drinker and so, I cant really comment much on its quality and etc as I lacked knowledge but it was nice. My favorite was the coffee with oreo and whipped cream. With this drink, the bitterness from the coffee is toned down a tad by the creamyness of the whip cream. The oreo crumbs provided some crunchy texture. Yea, it was a good combination.
