3 Yong Tau Fu Curry Mee Bentong Ginger Tea Good Curry Mee PJ Open Daily Taman Megah food Wan Tan Mee Yong Tau Foo

My Little Herbal Tea @ Taman Megah, PJ – Still is as good.

After a rather disappointing experience at what used to be our favorite kopitiam in Setapak, we decided to head over to My Little Herbal Tea. It has been 3 years since I’ve personally visited this restaurant but if my memory serves me right, this restaurant had good curry mee. Yea, we were in the mood for some curry mee. The kopitiam in Setapak used to serve some tasty curry mee, however after the pandemic hit, what used to be flavorful broth with a good portion of ingredients became a downsized version with watery soup. Uggh πŸ˜–πŸ˜– Let’s hope our experience at the current eatery would be positive.

First thing I noticed was that they changed their interior. During my last visit, they had a more ol’ school theme going on and now, it’s modern, bright with a white, blue theme and well spaced out.

It was evident that besides the good food here, their herbal tea is a hit with the folks in this neighborhood too because throughout the entire duration of my visit, people kept coming in to take away bottles of it. They offer a quite the variety, there is something for everyone.

3 Yong Tau Fu Curry Mee, RM 13.90 + Yong Tau Fu, RM 10

Yes, it still is as good. Considering how long I’ve gone without curry mee, this was an awesome dish to start with. I ordered the 3 Yong Tau Fu Curry Mee because as its name suggest, it comes accompanied with yong tau fu. One thing I noted here was that you’d get even more ingredients that expected for the money paid. 2 large pieces of brinjal, 2 large pieces of bitter gourd with fishball, fishballs, porkballs, tauhu, pork, half an egg, a good portion of Mihun Mee … all for RM 13.90. The curry broth was tasty, flavorful and somewhat thick. It was throughly satisfying.

The separate dish with only yong tau fu ingredients is a separate dish. It is not a part of the curry mee. Here, they offer a selection of items, of which you can choose from. It was an extension of what I’ve already got in the curry mee. All tasted good.

BBQ Pork Wontan Mee, RM 10.90

The wontan mee was good too. The noodles were perfect – not to chewy, not too soft, had a nice bounce to it. The bbq pork was tasty, however, as I forgot to request for ‘no pork fat’ , it came with plenty of that. The error was on my end. Still enjoyable though. The noodles however came in a small serving size? Yea, as a sharing dish, this wasn’t ideal because with just 3 mouths between the two of us and its all gone πŸ˜‚ . That aside, this was an equally satisfying dish.

Bentong Ginger Tea, RM 6

This was really good. A drink with a ‘kau/kaw’ effect. Strong oooooo. If you look to the bottom of the cup, you’d see it filled with small bits and pieces of ginger. You would get lots of it. Plenty. This is the kind of drink I’d expect when I order Bentong ginger tea. From your first sip to your last, the taste of ginger was clearly evident, it was almost as if you feel its healing effects on you as you sip. This was some good stuff, right here.

Would I be back? Heck yea. I do not know about the other outlets they have around town but this particular outlet, their HQ, has always been consistent in providing good food and drinks. So yea, I’d be back, for sure.
