Delifrance @ Publika, KL - A blast from the past

I think the last I’ve eaten at Delifrance was a good 15 – 20 years ago. I loved their croissant sandwiches and at one point, I may have eaten there weekly. They used to be everywhere, all around town to ….. nowhere at all. In recent years, the only time I’ve seen Delifrance locally was only when I was at the airport. It simply seemed like they closed shop for good and dissapeared.

I guess I’ve been out of the loop for so long that I didn’t know they opened a outlet at Publika and it has been around since 2020. My friend and I decided to drop by for a visit recently for lunch.

This Delifrance occupies a large space, literally the biggest one I’ve been to. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Tuna Melt Croissant, RM 20 + Roasted Chicken & Cheese Baguette, RM 20

Oooo man, that Tuna Melt Croissant sure caused some good memories to resurface. It tasted exactly how I remembered it to be. Delicious. Flufy, buttery croissant stuffed with tuna, cheese and greens. Biting into it was simply a joy.

I can’t say the same about the baguette though. I may have ordered the wrong filling. The bread itself was nice. It had a nice texture and density. However, as it is generally a dry bread, choosing roasted chicken – another dry ingredient, made the sandwich extremely dry. Some folks may like this combination, I did not. It was certainly an error on my part. However, it was nothing a little chilli sauce could not solve 😁. Once the sauce was added in, it turned out to be pretty nice.

It was definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane when I visited Delifrance. Would I head back here? For them stuffed tuna croissant … I would.
