Brownie Cakes Cosy Dessert Fruity Charlotte Good dessert cafe in Subang Jaya Hidden Honeycomb Latte Lotus Biscoff Brownie Quiet USJ 4

Tiennielicious at USJ 4, Subang Jaya – A cosy, hidden delight

I was introduced to this dessert cafe through a friend. I believe the words she used were – homey feel, cosy, hidden, neighborhood and desserts. Yup, all things I liked. So, a few days later, I found myself visiting Tiennielicious.

The hidden aspect of it comes from the fact that the cafe is located on the first floor (above 7 Eleven) within a row of shops. Unlike SS15 Subang Jaya, which literally is congested all day long, the row of shops in this neighborhood is pretty chill and laid back. The overall feel of this cafe is that it’s under the radar, which adds to its appeal.

Fruity Charlotte, RM 18

As you can see, the cake selection here was rather unique. I did not know which one to pick as all seemed interesting. After much consideration and with some help from the staff, I decided on Fruity Charlotte, albeit reluctantly. I am not one who fancies fruity cakes, however, this one was a crowd favorite. So, I went with it and hoped that it would not disappoint.

Did it disappoint? It certainly did not. I was pleasantly surprised. The combination of the varying layers and the fruits were very likeable. You’d get a layer of light cream on the top, followed by a thicker, gelatin-ish layer with bits of jelly like fruit and then, a layer of thin biscuit crumbs. The second and third layer repeats a gain at the bottom. The cake was too sweet, it was just right and it had different textures as well as flavors. The fruits provided a little bit of sourness which made this slice of cake even more appealing. Best part was that it was not a heavy cake. The kind where you are only few mouths in and your tummy is already full? This one here was light and easy.

Honeycomb Latte, RM 13

I ordered this drink because many people seem to like it, based on the reviews I’ve read. As soon as it arrived at my table, I went for the honeycomb bits. It sure did bring back some good memories, back to my schooling years in Australia. During winter especially, I used to make regular trips to Woolies to get me a packet of chocolate coated honeycomb cubes. I loved it. So yea, honeycomb is da bomb. Once the munching was over with, for a short period of time, the latte lost its appeal because upon tasting it, it was just another latte. What was the hype about? I think, the good part starts once the honeycomb melts into the latte. Yup. The mix of sweet, distinct honeycomb flavor with the milky bitterness of the latte was nice. Yea, I could see the appeal.

Lotus Biscoff Brownie, RM 12

The brownie was yummy and exuded a homemade feel. Texturewise, it was soft, moist, dense and not too sweet. I enjoyed it but if there was one thing I could change, it would be to add in more lotus biscoff 😁😁 ….

If you are a fan of Lotus Biscoff, the amount of it in the brownie would seem hardly enough. However, I know that lotus biscoff is not cheap and so, I suppose the limited amount given is understandable. The combination was divine.

Would I head back here? I would love to if I do end up in USJ 4 again. If you find yourself alone and without company, you could easily find a quiet corner here to sit and pass time while indulging in some desserts. I always did like a quiet, under the radar, neighborhood dessert cafe.
