Toast & Co at Puchong - Tasty sandwich

I visited this 2 weeks old cafe for lunch recently. A friend told me that they offer tasty sandwiches and since I was in the area, might as well drop by to give them a go.

Chocolate Croissant, RM 7.50

I was told that this is a crowd favorite. I was hungry and I decided to order this pastry in between waiting for my lunch. To me, this was more of a cronut rather than full on croissant. Its texture was flaky and crunchy, buttery like a cronut and the gooey dark chocolate centre was a perfect combination. I liked this pastry, it tasted good.

Herb Chicken with Pesto Toast, RM 16.50

Ooooo the scambled egg were delicious – milky, gooey and tasted awesome. The herb chicken was a grilled boneless chicken patty that tasted good but the salt was a tad too much. Luckily, having it with the egg and bread, in addition to pesto sauce and mayonnaise managed to downplay the saltyness from overwhelming my tastebuds. Over all, it was an enjoyable toast, filling too.

**** If you are in a rush, I strongly suggest you order yourself a sandwich rather than the rice bowls and pasta. We also ordered a rice bowl and that took 25 minutes to arrive. The two tables after me, they ordered sandwiches and they received their orders before I did mine. Perhaps with this eatery being new, there are some limitations in the kitchen, for now.

Korean Chicken Don, RM 20.50

When asked which is their most popular rice bowl, this particular one was suggested to me. After giving it a go, I wished I had ordered another sandwich instead, perhaps one of their signature ones. Not that the rice bowl was bad, it was not but the sandwich was alot more memorable. On its own, the marinated chicken thigh tasted good but again, a tad too salty. When eaten with the scrambled egg and soft rice, it tasted good. I loved the brocolli. Whatever they sauce they used to stir fry it in was yummy. Overall, not bad a dish. I simply prefer their toasts.
