Chikyn Dosirak Fried wings & drummet Halal Honey & Oats Korean Fried Chicken New 2022: April Open Daily Sweet & Spicy

Chikyn at SS15, Subang Jaya (Halal) – Korean Fried Chicken

As I’ve mentioned it sooo many times over the years, I utterly dislike heading into SS15 during lunch hour on a weekday. Why? The traffic congestion, the mess… everything is everywhere and it comes from all directions. So, I only end up here during this particular time of day when it is absolutely necessary. Today, I had a meeting nearby and since I was already in the area, might as well check it out, right?

I picked this 2 month old restaurant – Chikyn out of the hundreds of eateries here because it was relatively quiet at 2 pm. Another reason would be because it faces the multi level public carpark, literally a minute walk to the restaurant, no sweat. Considering how difficult it is to find a parking spot by the roadside here, the multi level is an awesome thing and it cost me RM 1 per hour.

*** Halal : I was in a rush to head out towards the end and so, I did not manage to look around for the Halal cert but I did ask the Malay lady at the counter and she stated that it was Halal. If in doubt, do contact the eatery directly.

The first image was taken from just outside the walkway of the public carpark. It really is convenient. Rather than being stuck in traffic jam, you can park in the carpark and conveniently go about your day. It also has connections on all sides which makes it easy for you to connect to different row of shops/areas.

Menu

Chikyn Dosirak (Noodle) with Jasmine Tea, RM 19.90

When enquired what was a crowd favorite here, this dish was suggested to me. Dosirak includes 4 pieces of boneless chicken with a choice of rice or noodles … all at a cost of RM 18.90. With an addition of RM 1, you can include a drink (mineral water or Jasmine tea).

For the boneless chicken, you’d be able to chooce your flavors from the 6 available choices, I opted for Sweet and Spicy.

The chicken was more sweet than spicy but I liked it. It was one of those regular flavors you can expect when one eats Korean Fried Chicken locally and it was tasty. The texture was soft, moist and dense. The noodles, it tasted like Indomee with some additional flavors. It was nice but it did not seem ‘Korean’ to me. Nevertheless, the noodle + chicken combination was yummy and I can see why this dish is popular but my favorite would be their Signature wings & Drummet.

Signature Wings & Drummet (6 pieces), RM16.90

Now this dish, I loved. It was deliciousssssss 😍😍.

As you can see, this dish includes 6 pieces of chicken drummet + wings with a side of curly fries. My flavor of choice for the chicken this time was Honey with Oats, it was spot on πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ. You can expect a pleasant mix of sweetness and crunchyness on the outside of the chicken, tender and juicy meat on the inside. The combination of both resulted in yummy chicken drummets and wings.

Would I head back here? Honestly … no. Firstly because I am not a fan of the area. Secondly because there are a number of other Korean fried chicken restaurants here that I haven’t tried. So, if I end up here again and am in the mood to have this particular dish, I more likely will try the other eateries before deciding on a favorite.
