Today we visited this hidden gem in Lucky Garden, Bangsar. Having been around for over a year, this cafe is located on the first floor within the row of shops along Lorong Ara Kiri 2 (same row as Ombak Kitchen). Hani Eatery offers a Japanese inspired cuisine with a selection of rice bowls, noodles and desserts.

Yuzu Sesame Noodles, RM 18

This noodle dish includes flat, knife- cut noodles, with pulled chicken, homemade spicy sauce, shredded vegetables, hanjuku tomago, tomago and hand fried crips. After mixing it all up, what I could immediately taste is a mix of kewpie and sesame or something that resembled that. A unique flavor indeed. The flat noodles was a good choice for this dish as the flavors are retained longer. I enjoyed this dish, the unique mix of flavors was appealing.
Salmon & Dashi Don, RM29

This dish included rice, salmon, saute vegetables, corn, nori and bonito flakes with dashi soup. It was a pretty good rice bowl with a few large chunks of salmon.
** if you do not like your rice bowl soggy, then there is no need to use up all the soup. I made a mistake of pouring in the whole thing, so it ended up being soggy at the bottom.
Chocolate Scone Tart, RM12

For dessert, I opted for this tart. The ‘scone tart’ bit got my attention. I dont know about the scone but to me, this resembled like their version of a chocolate tart. The outer layer was basically made up of the tart crust and on the inside, a good amount of chocolate that resembled a fudge texture. Below the fudgy chocolate is a layer of cranberry, which provided an extra ‘kick’ with its slight saltiness. The whole tart is also topped with a light cream that was not too sweet. Overall, you get a little sweetness, slight bitterness from the chocolate and some saltiness from the berries. I liked it.
