I came across several videos on this particular eatery recently and it got me salivating. Fried fish, fried chicken, fried prawns, fried squids, Gulai Masak Lemak, sambal …. oooo my 😍. As soon as I had some free time, I took a 35 minutes drive and there I was, ready to sink my teeth into some of those delicious goodies.
Depending on your time of arrival, the restaurant will be fully occupied, crowded. There will be a long waiting line at the entrance. The first thing you do is look for an empty table. Each table comes with a table number, note it down as you can only proceed to order if you have a table number.

Nasi Ganja Ayam, RM12 + Nasi Sumatera Sotong Kunyit, RM18 + Nasi Sumatera Udang,RM15
Firstly, the serving size is large here. I especially liked that the prawns, squids came in a big portion. Plenty enough to last from the first mouth to the last …. and affordably priced too.
The Sotong Kunyit was delicious. It was crispy on the outside and soft, chewy on the inside. The appealing taste of turmeric was evident. The rice here was slightly more dense and gooey than usual but when eaten with the flavorful gravy and the turmeric squid, it was a delicious combination. This dish also included taugeh, cabbage and a chicken feet gulai. For the udang, there were 6 pieces of medium fried prawns, shared a similar texture to the sotong, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The rest of the ingredients on the plate were the same as the squid. The Nasi Ganja was my favorite. It was a simple yet flavorful dish. At an affordable cost of RM12, a tasty, filling meal is guaranteed. Crispy and meaty fried chicken with dense rice and flavorful gravy. All 3 dishes were delicious and I can see why Nasi Dulang Daun Pisang is a crowd favorite.
