Brownie Chicken Chop Dessert Hidden Cafe Kota Damansara Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang Open Daily Pork Free

Signature Cafe at Kota Damansara – A hidden gem (Pork free)

I am a foodie who enjoys discovering hidden gems whenever time permits and so, when I was told about Signature Cafe, I was excited to give it a go. What makes this particular cafe hidden is the fact that it is located inside a large home improvement/ interior design store – Signature Flagship Store.

Plenty of parking available within the vicinity of the store, free of charge. Once you’ve parked, walk through the entrance of the store and you’d find the cafe easily on your right. If you visit during lunch hour, you’d find quite the crowd which consist mostly of working folks as well as families.

This cafe has a lounge feel to it and it makes a perfect space for work meets. You’d be able to find a quiet corner here and there to have your discussions while munching on your lunch. At the same time, it was equally as good a spot for my friend and I to catch up. We had a corner all to ourselves and we spent a good 2 hours here.

Dark Chocolate Brownie, RM12

We started off with some dessert, a little something to munch on while waiting for our food to arrive. The brownie had a crispy, crunchy thin layer on top and a soft, dense bottom. What I liked about this dessert besides its texture was that it was chocolatty and not too sweet.

Signature Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang, RM 22

Instead of a normal flat plate, the Nasi Lemak here was served in a rattan one with an elevated angle. Rather unique. As you can see, the dish included chicken rendang (thigh piece) + sambal, long beans, cucumber, peanuts, anchovies, rice and papadam. It delicious and filling, one best enjoyed on an empty stomach, I suppose. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, tender too. The sambal was neither too spicy or too sweet, it simply was a good combination of both. Overall, this dish was yummy.

Signature Chicken Chop, RM 24

I am a fan of chicken chop but is of the mindset that the one served fried is the best. The one here though was grilled/pan seared? So naturally, the chicken texture was different and I thought I was not going to like it but decided to give it a try anyway because it was a crowd favorite. I was apprehensive. However, upon eating it, I realized it wasn’t bad at all. The meat was soft and tender, tasted good. It was served together with a portion of buttery mash potato and sauteed vegetables.

Overall, it was a good trip here to Signature Cafe. Would I head back here? Once in a blue moon, perhaps. I rarely venture into Kota Damansara and when I do, it is usually for work related matters. This cafe provides a good setting for some work related meetings. I’ll be sure to keep it in mind.
