Dessert Good Thai food in PJ Mee Hoon Tom Yum New 2022: July Pad Kra Pow Prawns Red Ruby Thai Uptown Damansara food

Heng Dee at Uptown, Damansara Utama – Yummy Thai food

This was an accidental discovery. There I was driving around the block, looking through the numerous eateries available at Uptown for me to have lunch at …. when I eventually ended up in front of Heng Dee. Oooo, Thai food. Well, I am certainly not one to say no to this particular cuisine and so, lunch for the day was here 😁

The dark teal colored walls sure was a delight. Certainly not the usual color palette I usually come across. Niceeee.

Food here is authentic, cooked by Thai chefs themselves. How do I know this? At the point of my visit, my friend and I were literally the only ones there. It was quiet except for the cooks loudly talking in Thai, conversations overlapping one another. It is something I regularly come by at Thai restaurants and find it rather fascinating. So, that takes care of the authenticity, right? Food being cooked by the Thais themselves… and ooo, a number of their ingredients are also sourced directly from Thailand.

Customer service was good, we were attended to immediately, as soon as we were seated. Food arrived within 10 mins.

Menu

Signature Mee Hoon Tom Yum, RM 17.90

This dish tasted like tom yum but looked completely different from what I was used to. What I am used to was fiery red orangey broth, the one here was brown-ish in color …. but it was delicious!! Lots of noodles with nuts, chilies, pork meat, pork skin, pork soup. It was spicy, tasted almost the same as the tom yum soup I am used to and yet, different. I loved it. Certainly would not mind ordering it again.

Pad Kra Pow Goong, RM 17.50

I am a fan of Pad Kra Pow, more often than not it comes with minced chicken and pork. Having it with prawns was a first for me. The dish included 6 pieces of medium sized fresh prawns with the usual Pad Kra Pow sauce with Basil leaves, white rice and a bullseye egg. Delicious it was. Yummmm !!

Red Ruby, RM 7.50

What better way to end my visit here by indulging in some dessert? I am certainly not one to resist Red Ruby. I loveeee biting into them red colored water chestnut bits with sweetened coconut milk and pieces of jackfruit. I was a happy kid 😊

Would I head back here? Yes, I would. If I am in the area and fancy having some Thai food, I’d certainly keep Heng Dee in mind.
