Over the past few months, I’ve driven passed this restaurant several times and in all those times, I noticed that it was busy, crowded. Opened since August this year, Guan’s obviously is a neighborhood favorite. This is their first outlet here, they have two other outlets in East Malaysia – in Sabah.

Both indoor and outdoor seating available here. As we arrived during lunch time, it was full house. We did not have to wait long to be seated though, less than 10 minutes. While waiting, we were given a menu and a sheet of paper gto place our order. This I liked because then food will arrive within a reasonable time despite the fullhouse.
Especially during peak hours where there is a crowd, do expect a noisy, boisterous environment. You’d literally be hearing one conversation overlapping another. If you are one of those who likes a quieter environment, you’d have better luck sitting outdoor and if you drop by during non peak hours.
Menu

At Guan’s, as you can see, they offer you a cuisine that has a good mix of traditional and modern, local and western, cafe and kopitiam.
Mee Hoon Siam, RM 8.90 + Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken, RM 16.90

Food was good. I liked the Mee Siam. It had the usual ingredients accompanying this dish – fishcakes, shredded egg and etc. The Nasi Lemak with Chicken Curry is one of their popular dishes. It included nasi lemak with a side of curry chicken, 2 pieces of chicken. Tasty it was.
To me, Guan’s feel like a modern kopitiam, which is something I like. I however would prefer a quieter environment, just so that I can enjoy the setting better. So, would I drop by again for another visit? Yes, I would but perhaps during a non peak hour.
