Sin Tong Hong is a newly opened kopitiam in Paramount Garden, PJ. This was my second attempt visiting them. The first was unsuccessful. All their dishes were apparently sold out😯 by the time I arrived. Food must be good, ey?
Just like the first time, during this visit, the restaurant was crowded and fully occupied. It is a normal scene during lunch hour, I guess. Unlike the first time though, rather than dropping by during lunch hour, I decided to visit after 1 pm. As a result, I did not have to wait long to be seated.
PARKING: Depending on your time of visit, it may be difficult to get a parking spot here. You may have to go around the block a few times before coming across an empty spot.
It was a boisterous environment. Do expect overlapping chatters and conversations. The space looked good, aesthetically pleasing. Customer service was good. Food arrived quickly.

Handmade Noodle with Dry Curry Chicken, RM 12.90 + Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng Berempah, RM 14.90
The food was ummm…. a tad underwhelming. We ordered 2 of their signature items. The Nasi Lemak, the ingredient that ties it all together like a fluid gel is the sambal…. and the sambal lacked flavor. It was not spicy… not sweet … not sour… not bitter … nothing. It was almost bland. Luckily, the Ayam Goreng Berempah was actually ‘berempah’. So that provided some flavor. The chicken, together with the anchovies, egg and kacang made it better but it would have been great to have a good sambal. It was missing the connection.
As for the noodles, I liked this dish better than the Nasi Lemak. The handmade noodles were light and springy, soft too. The curry was mild in flavor. Whats up with the lack of flavor? 🤔🤔 If they added more flavor, this would have been an awesome dish because everything else on the plate was good. Adding the fried fuchok slices was a good touch, I enjoyed biting into them.
Would I head back here? Maybe, in the future. Hopefully by then, they have improved on their flavoring.
