Chicken Biryani Garlic Naan Garlic Naan Set Good tandoori chicken in KL Halal New restaurant KL 2023 January Open Daily Tandoori Chicken TTDI

Kapitan Tandoori House at TTDI – Delicious tandoori chicken (Halal)

Just the other day, after our visit to Alora Spices – Alora Spices at TTDI – New Sri Lankan restaurant πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ , as we rounded the block on our way out of TTDI, we noticed Kapitan. Well yes, it’s the latest F&B addition on this side of TTDI but what caught our eye was the crowd. For a newly opened establishment, it was crazy crowded. We took note of that and told ourselves that we need to return soon for a try.

Fast forward a week later, here we were. Kapitan is located along Jalan Tun Mohd. Fuad 1, in between Yarl and Secret Recipe.

We arrived at lunch time to a fully crowded restaurant. Crazy crowded. Literally everywhere you turn, there were people. I know the images above does not show it but only because I waited till the crowd died down a little before I snapped photos. It was crazy. If you are expecting a quiet setting, this will not be it. It was loud and boisterous, filled with conversations, chatters and laughter. If you are from the area and intend to eat Kapitan’s food but would rather do without the crowd, it is best you ‘tapau’ the food or drop by when it is not peak hour.

Menu

Garlic Naan Set, RM 15 + Chicken Biryani, RM 15

Garlic Naan Set
Chicken Biryani

Both dishes ordered included tandoori chicken and upon trying it, it sure was delicious. The Chicken Biryani included a large sized meat. It was literally the largest tandoori chicken I’ve been served in a long while. The chicken tasted delicious and it was tender, juicy all around. A perfect side to the biryani. The rice, to me, was a mix of biryani + Nasi Minyak. That was what it tasted like and utterly yummy to eat with the chicken. Besides that, the dish also included raita and dhal.

The Garlic Naan Set came with a piece of naan with tandoori chicken and onion, dhal. The meat was just as good as the one with the briyani. Moist, tender and juicy…. delicious to be eaten with the garlic naan, which was soft and fluffy.

All in all, I enjoyed both the dishes ordered. Would I head back here again? Perhaps once the crowd has settled down and it will certainly be a visit during non peak hours.
