Oui Bakehouse & Cafe at Old Klang Road – Delicious pizza (Pork free)

We recently visited this newly opened cafe in Old Klang Road. Located on the Ground floor of Menara K1, this less than a month old cafe serves an array of pastries and main meals. This is one side of Old Klang Road I have not venture into. I’ve driven passed it many times but never really took a turn into it. It has its own ecosystem – office block, SMEs, bank, food and even a college named Newton College. Depending on your time of visit, you’d be seeing plenty of students walking about. Certainly a scene that brings back memories, lol.

Parking was rather easy. There were parking spots outside, by the road. During peak hours you’d likely need to go around the block a few times to find an empty one, free of charge.

Menu

Coffee Croissant, RM 10.90 + Kaya Supreme, RM 12.90

Coffee Croissant
Kaya Supreme

We were told that the pizza would take between 20 – 30 minutes to be served as they make the whole thing fresh from scratch. So, while waiting, we decided to give their pastries a try.

Between the two, I liked the Kaya Supreme. The pastry was similar in texture to a croissant, flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. There was a good portion of light kaya cream as garnish on the top as well as a filling on the inside. As I am a fan of kaya, naturally I’d enjoy this dish, especially when the taste of kaya was evident in every bite I took. Yum.

As for the Coffee Croissant, it was okaylah. In my opinion, the coffee cream was too light. I would have preferred it stronger rather than barely there hints. A personal preference. The pastry by itself was good. Flaky and crumbly exterior with a soft interior.

Fungi Lover, RM 45

Ooooo man, this has to be one of the yummiest vegetarian pizzas I’ve had in a loooooong time. I generally prefer meat with my pizza but seeing that they only have 3 options to choose from, I opted to go with the meat free option. Why? Well, it included ingredients I liked – mushrooms, truffle oil, cheese and rocket salad.

This is a 10 inch thin crusted pizza which includes 8 slices. Perfect for a group of 2,3. From the image above, I am sure you can tell that the toppings here were generous. It consisted of 3 types of mushrooms – portobello, shimeji and button. Every slice I took, there were plenty of mushroom, from top to bottom. Besides that, there were the greens as well as cheese. The truffle oil, not only did I smell it as soon as the pizza arrived at my table, I tasted it too. The combination of all the items led to one delicious pizza. So good!
