Dou Dou Bake. I remember the hype this bakery cafe used to cause when it first open doors back in 2020. I can also recall the many of my failed attempts to visit this eatery. Why fail? Well, not only was there always a long waiting line, waiting time often exceeded 30 minutes. So, eventually, I gave up, moved on and forgot about it.
Fast forward years later, I finally managed to step foot into Dou Dou Bake. I had to pick a friend up from the area. His meeting was running long and since I had some time to spare, I decided to try my luck with this bakery cafe. It honestly was no surprise to me that I managed to get in this time and that too with ease. There was no waiting line and I was seated as soon as I entered. No surprise at all. When I did not go looking for it, the opportunity presents itself.
They sure did put a lot of effort into its presentation. The cafe had a gray/black theme going with a nice garden on the side. Certainly instagrammable. Despite the darker theme, the cafe was brightly lit, thanks to the windows and glass panels. Even with the rather boisterous setting, sitting there was relaxing.

I would have loved to try the food here but it so happened that my visit to Dou Dou Bake took place right after a filling, hearthy lunch. I did have space for a pastry though but sadly, by the time I arrived, most of it were gone/ finished and with what remained …. lets just say that I was not in the mood for cookies. So, I ended up with a Chai latte instead. I enjoyed it, especially with the cinnamon drizzle on the top that gave it a ‘spice’ feel.
