If you drive past this eatery at night, you are bound to see a long waiting line. It is popular, it is famous and it has gone viral on TikTok the past few months. In fact, thanks to those social media postings, I connected the dots …. that the restaurant with the long waiting line is in fact Big Boss HSP.
Big Boss HSP occupies a small, corner lot. There are limited number of table and chairs. As a result, many customers often opt to also grab and go. In terms of location, it is located in the same stretch that houses popular cafes like Timothy, Kafe Kleptokrat and Jamboo KL. Unlike those cafes though, Big Boss HSP operates in the evening onward, from 5 pm all the way till midnight and 2 am (Fri & Sat). So, if you guys are looking for a late hangout spot in the City Centre, this could be it.
HSP. Am I the only one who did not know what HSP stood for? I knew of the doner kebab and fries combo. I myself am a fan of it in addition to the variety of tantilizing sauces they offer. I however did not know that it is referred to as Halal Snack Pack (HSP), popular mainly in Australia. I guess learn something new everyday π

Big Boss HSP sure is a crowd favorite. Literally everytime I’ve driven past it, there almost always is a long waiting line. The day of my visit was no different. The line however moves rather fast, which was a good thing given how hot it is nowadays.
Customer service was great. Despite the fullhouse, service did not suffer. The chefs/cooks looked like they really enjoyed working there. They were joking and goofing around with one another which certainly put a smile on our faces. I also appreciated the fact that they took the time to do a quick go-through of the menu for us first timers. It certainly helped us in placing our orders.
Menu

Combo A, RM 45.90
Since there were 2 of us, we opted to go for their Combo option, specifically Combo A, which is good enough for 2-3 pax. The combo includes a Double HSP (Large), a Shawarma and 2 drinks (can drinks or bottled water).

The Double HSP was basically delicious indulgence. I threw my calorie counter out of the window for the night π€£π€£. Food was good, exactly how I wished fast food would be. All my favorites served on a platter. A combination of chicken doner kebab that was flavorful, soft and dense with a desired smokey aftertaste + fries + complimenting sauces. Tastewise, it was yummy. Do go with the Holy Trinity for sauces. It is a combination of Garlic, Smokey BBQ and Sweet Chili Sauce. The sweet and spicy sauces complimented the meat and fries very well.

The Chicken Shawarma was tasty too. I liked the fact that they stuffed the roll full of chicken. More often than not, nowadays, there will be little meat in wraps which I utterly detest … because I am paying for the meat, right? Glad that here they believe in giving their customers what they deserve… lots of meat! Yesssssss π. I enjoyed biting into this dish. If I could change one thing, it would be to reduce the garlic sauce. Some folks enjoy it that way but I did not. Halfway through, all I could taste was the garlic sauce. In fact, long after I was done with the dish, the taste of garlic still lingered. I suppose it is a matter of preference. I’d simply ask them to reduce the amount of garlic sauce during my next visit as I most certainly will be ordering the Shawarma again.
