Banana Leaf Rice Good Indian food in KL Indian food Jalan Kuching Masala Chicken Open Daily Pork Free

Jay Aloki Bhavan at Menara Flexus, Jalan Kuching, KL – Tasty Banana Leaf Rice (pork free)

We recently visited this Indian restaurant at Menara Flexus. I drove passed it some time back on my way to Batu Caves. As Menara Flexus is by the roadside, I caught a glimpse of this Indian restaurant on my way. Fast forward a month later, I found myself heading the same direction again and decided to drop by Jay Aloki Bhavan for a visit.

Parking: I was lucky enough to find a parking spot just outside the restaurant, along the road. If those are all occupied, you can park at the visitor carpark within Menara Flexus. Only Touch N Go is accepted as a method of payment. A minimum card balance of RM 10 is necessary for entry.

It had the usual Indian restaurant setup – a display area with a selection of vegetables and meat to choose from. You can either opt for individual dishes, mix rice or their Banana Leaf Rice (BLR) a try. The restaurant itself was clean and airconditioned. The staffs were friendly, I was attended to immediately as I was seated.

Banana Leaf Set Meal, RM 11.50 + Masala Chicken (Large), RM 14.90

Food here tasted like home cooked food. It was not laden with spices, salt and it had just the right amount of flavor to make it a tasty meal.

A BLR meal here cost RM 11.50 and it includes 4 vegetables, ginger pickle, fried bittergourd and papadam with curry of your choice. For meat, I opted for Masala Chicken. The large option cost RM 14.90, it has a good amount enough for 2 people.

As mentioned earlier, food was tasty. Would I come back for another visit? Yes, sure. As the restaurant is located quite a distance away from me, this would be a once in a blue moon affair.
