I do not usually do this. I do not write and post a review about an eatery that is going to permanently close/ cease operations very soon but when the food was delicious, I simply have to. Sharing is caring and to those of you who are from the area or nearby and love Hokkien Mee, take note of this restaurant. While it may be closing doors in a matter of days, if you are in the area, do give them a try while they are still open. The Hokkien Mee has to be one of the best in the area and is worth a try.
This eatery has been opened since December last year and despite driving past this road almost on a daily basis, I’ve somehow missed its existence. Haiyaaaaaa π. Anyways, Chef Chew Noodle House is located on the FIRST FLOOR, above Zao ~ Breakfast Anytime. It is within the row of shops opposite the road from Strangers at 47 and Kanna Curry House.

The restaurant has a simple, no frills setup. Its a perfect spot for solo eaters and small groups. Compared to some of the other eateries on the Ground floor that cater to biggers groups, this one here serves single portions and includes dishes varying from noodles, fried rice to clams and some vegetables.
Menu

Hokkien Mee, RM 14.80 + Signature Fried Sang Mee, RM 14.80

Both dishes were good. I especially liked the Hokkien Mee. It has to be one of the best Hokkien me I’ve had in a while. It had a large portion size, more than enough to keep your stomachs full till you eat next. They offer several choices of noodles, I opted for a mix of mee + mee hoon and it was the perfect choice. Lots of meat too – chicken, prawns and pork lard. It is one of those dishes whereby you simply have to eat it because describing it isn’t possible. If they aren’t closong down soon, I’d certainly be a regular customer here.
The Signature Fried Sang Mee was tasty. I was told that besides the Hokkien Mee, this dish was popular too. The egg noodles used were plenty with a generous portion of meat. Once again, a good dish. While I liked both dishes, the Hokkien Mee is my favorite.
Once again, a REMINDER – this restaurant will be closing permanently very soon. If you intend to give the yummy noodles a try, head there soon.
