byBtterswt at Taman Paramount, PJ - Brunch & dessert (Pork free)

There is a new cafe in town, officially opened a month ago. Bitter Sweet started off as an online cake shop that has now expanded into a full fledge cafe. Naturally, desserts are the highlight here but one can also find a small menu of brunch and lunch items.

byBtterswt is located in Taman Paramount, PJ. Waze will lead you to it but it did seem like it was tag slightly away from its actual location. Simply take a look around and you’ll find it. Alternatively, you can also Waze to UR by Switch Paramount Home Centre, as the cafe is located right next to it.

Parking: Everyone parks by the roadside here – legal and illegally. The area might be a mess of cars and people during peak hour but good news is that people move in and out quickly. Eventually, you’ll come across an empty spot.

Chocolate Fudge Cake, RM 18

All cakes and desserts here are made in house.

I chose this particular dessert because I lovee chocolate and I saw it displayed rather ‘regally’ on their counter … I knew it was the cake for me.

Oooo this was certainly a good slice of chocolate cake. It was pleasantly sweet with hints of bitterness. The cake itself was made of rich dark chocolate and the cream was chocolate fudge buttercream. Texturewise, it was soft and dense but not too moist. The cake decor was on point, it had an air of exclusivity. There were blueberries with a dash of gold coloring, flowers that added some bright colors to an otherwise dark dish, chocolate drizzle and a slice of lemon. This was an awesome dessert. I liked it lots.

Homemade Lamb Pie, RM 23

They serve a small menu of brunch and lunch options here. Between a toss up of Quinoa Nasi Lemak and the Lamb Pie, I opted for the latter … because while the Nasi Lemak sounded tempting, my brains could not compute the use of quinoa 😅 . It isn’t ‘lemak’ anymorelahhhh.

Anyways, the included a normal sized lamb pie, topped with a serving of rocket salad, served on a bed of mash potatoes. The potatoes, as you can probably tell from the images, came in a large portion size, good enough to feed two. The pie, I liked. The lamb filling was generous and meat was cooked well, tasted good too. What I haf a minor issue with was the pie crust. It was a little too soft for my liking. That being said, it was not that big of a deal to me. I still ate it all up anyway.

Overall, it was a good visit to byBtterswt. Would I head back here? For the cakes, I would. I look forward to trying out the rest of their desserts.
