YDT Dessert is one of the latest addition into the F&B scene at PJ New Town. As its name suggest, one can certainly find desserts here – Tong Sui, Shaved Ice and Nyonya Kueh. However, their offerings is not limited to just that, they also serve a few Mains and side dishes here including Asam Laksa, Tom Yum Mee Hoon and more.

Red Bean Soup with Purple Rice, RM 6.80 + Tom Yum Mee Hoon, RM 6.80
I started off with the Red Bean soup. It was pleasant sweet. The filling was a mix of red beans and purple rice that had a texture similar to barley. Chewy it was and I liked it. I only wish they added a little more red bean into the mix because the soup to bean ratio was not equal. Other than that, it was a good dessert to slurp on.
The Tom Yum Mee Hoon is their best seller and I went with that. At a price point of RM 6.80, I’d say this dish was affordably priced. You’d get a proper amount of noodles together with shredded eggs, fish balls and fish cake. The taste of tom yum was evident with every bite. There also was a slight tangyness, perhaps from lemon zest that gave the dish an extra ummpph. A simple yet tasty dish.
Would I head back here? Yes, I would. I am a fan of Tong Sui and now that there is a restaurant closer to home, I will likely drop by for a visit. Perhaps even give their Asam Laksa a try.
