The Jabba – Bigger, Better & Badder
The Jabba is back, heck ya! Due to its overwhelming popularity, this seasonal favorite will be available at all KGB outlets from November 15th, 2023, until December 31st, 2023. Rest assured, this latest version is guaranteed to be as luscious and mouth-watering. With R&D dedicated to the creation of something wonderful, 2023’s Jabba is bound to surpass all expectations with its impressive enhancements.
The Jabba offers two choices: chicken or beef, both aiming to emulate a Beef Wellington. The concept of a chicken burger resembling a Wellington may be difficult to envision, to me at least. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to sample this renowned burger before it is released to the general public. In light of this, it was the chicken option I went for as I my curiosity got the better of me.
A chicken burger resembling a Wellington … how would it look like?
Indeed, it greatly resembled a Wellington. Do not underestimate The Jabba, especially solely based on its aesthetics, you will be mistaken. This has to be one of the juiciest, cheesiest and wholesomely filling burger I’ve had in a while. KGB says that this dish is fit for two and if I were you, I’d take their word for it.
Unless you are so hungry you could devour a cow, it is unlikely you’d be able to handle this bad boy on your own. It is a dish fit for two. By itself, ala carte, the burger cost RM 49.90.
For the BEEF option, this delectable masterpiece consists of grilled, succulent Portobello mushroom, generously topped with a flavorful bacon onion jam. Complementing this is a 200 gm Australian beef patty and 120 gm of cheese. All of these mouthwatering components are then encased in a rich, flaky puff pastry and baked to perfection, reminiscent of the classic Wellington dish. For the CHICKEN option, the burger would consist of a large, juicy chicken patty. The rest of the ingredients are similar to their beef counterpart.
To those of you who truly intend to indulge, we highly recommend The Jabba Set, available at a price of RM 69.90. This set not only includes a satisfying burger but also offers a generous serving of Texas Jalapeno Wedges (chicken or beef), a refreshing garden salad, and two soft drinks. For an additional RM 5 per drink, you have the option to upgrade to milkshakes.
The Texas Jalapeno Wedges
The Texas Jalapeno Wedges exhibit a comparable level of indulgence to The Jabba. It is understandable why they are bundled together as a set. The wedges, akin to the burger, are served in a substantial portion size. Tasty, crispy yet soft wedges, good enough for two. They are generously garnished with a plentiful amount of chicken and topped with a layer of rich, melted cheese. As an individual who doesn’t hold a particular fondness for potatoes, I must admit that I found pleasure in consuming these delightful wedges.
PB&J and Biscoff Milkshakes
For the drinks option, rather than soft drinks, I would suggest upgrading it to a milkshake. With an additional RM 5, a feast in your mouth is guaranteed. If you prefer a drink that is not overly sweet yet decadent, PB&J is the one for you. As a fellow peanut butter fan myself, I truly enjoyed this drink. I loved that peanut butter was evident with every sip I took. This combination of nutty butter, jelly and ice cream was certainly memorable. Alternatively, their Biscoff Milkshake may be of interest if you have a sweet tooth. Especially appealing to Lotus Biscoff fans, the milkshake is made up of Biscoff cookies, Biscoff spread and ice cream.
The Golden Wings
For chicken wing enthusiasts, The Golden Wings are a must-try. Coated with Salted Egg Yolk and a variety of spices, it is clear why this dish is a fan favorite. Simply the thought of it makes my mouth water. Priced at RM 18.50, the dish includes 6 pieces of chicken – 3 drumettes and 3 wings. The subtle flavor of Salted Egg combined with the underlying spices is evident in every bite. A delight to bite into.
The Southwest Eggrolls
Last but not least, the Southwest Eggrolls. Another crowd favorite, priced at RM 14.90, this side dish is a satisfying snack. It includes 6 pieces of crunchy yet dense eggrolls, stuffed with flavorful filling.
We had a satisfying experience dining at KGB. The Jabba in particular, was delicious, and the other dishes were equally as good. It is worth noting that each dish is prepared upon order, emphasizing the commitment to freshness. Rest assured that your order will be served hot off the stove, providing the best possible taste experience.
All the mentioned dishes can be enjoyed at KGB outlets and through takeout or delivery.
