We recently had the opportunity to dine at the popular establishment located in Wisma Cosway, which specializes exclusively in ONE offering: Fish & Chips. Originally named Lad & Fry, it garnered significant popularity; however, it permanently closed shortly after its initial launch. Not too long later, they reopened and renamed Boys Don’t Fry.
The restaurant is situated in a modest corner shop lot on the Ground Floor. Currently open exclusively for lunch, with plans to extend operating hours to include breakfast in the near future, one can anticipate a bustling atmosphere, particularly during weekdays. Office folks from upstairs frequently visit to enjoy the fish and chips. Fortunately, tables empty quickly, ensuring that customers do not have to wait long for seating.

Boys Don’t Fry only offers ONE dish – Fish & Chips Set.
Fish & Chips Set, RM 38
The Fish & Chips Set comprises a fillet encased in a crisp exterior woth a good portion of fish filling, served atop a bed of chips/fries. This Set is accompanied by a side of homemade tartar sauce, mashed peas, pickled radish and cucumber. Additionally, a Lemonade is included. Food was good, particularly the fish. The delicate, crispy outer layer provided a pleasurable contrast upon biting.
The downside with this Set is that it is accompanied by a fixed quantity of items. Personally, I prefer the classic serving of fish and chips, which includes fish and chips paired with tartar sauce. This portion is filling in itself. I found the sides to be too much, and I had to compel myself to finish them because I spent RM 38 for it. So, it would be great if the option to choose between including or excluding the sides were made available.
Overall, the quality of the food was good. However, I am unlikely to return for another visit. Wisma Cosway is situated at a considerable distance from my location, and I can reasonably find alternative restaurants serving similar dishes in closer proximity. Furthermore, I would prefer to forgo the side dishes, which renders the RM 38 spent excessive. Therefore, I am unlikely to revisit Boys Don’t Fry.
