Fish & Chips brand from Singapore Fish and Chips Lad & Dad at Wisma Cosway KL Lemonade Pork Free Wisma Cosway food

Lad & Dad at Wisma Cosway, KL – Fish & Chips (pork free)

I was in the area for a meeting and once concluded, it was an opportune moment for lunch, as Wisma Cosway was conveniently situated nearby. If you have previously visited, you would be aware that a selection of food options is available there, ranging from Western and Japanese to Chinese, Mamak, desserts, and more.

After walking around and weighing my options, I decided to have lunch at Lad & Dad, a Singaporean brand serving Fish & Chips. (FYI – there is another popular fish & Chips eatery here, Boys Don’t Fry – Boys Dont Fry at Wisma Cosway KL)

The batter that enveloped the fish sure was something. It exhibited a crunchiness; upon piercing it with a fork, it crumbles. Although its texture was not my preferred choice, it was fortunate that it was generously seasoned. This enabled me to scoop it up, dip it into the accompanying sauces, and savor each bite. Five dip options were available—four sauces and mushy peas—and one could select two. I went for the popular combination of Tartar Sauce and the unique Sambal Aioli, which offered a tartar flavor enhanced by the taste and spiciness of sambal.

The fish was delightful, both independently and when dipped into the accompanying sauces. Additionally, the dish featured a serving of fries, available in both thick and thin cuts. I chose the thick cut version and it was delicious. All in all, although the texture of the fish was not my favorite, it was an enjoyable dish.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary of the Singapore outlet, drinks were free. I got to enjoy a cup of refreshing lemonade smoothie.
