Ernie Mansion Cafe at Happy Mansion, Section 17, PJ – Best chicken chop in the area 😍😍

I was enticed into dropping by Ernie Mansion for a visit after listening to my friends raving away about how awesome the chicken chop here is. As I am a fan of this particular dish, it made sense to pay this eatery a visit to check it out.

Ernie Mansion is located in Block A, Happy Mansion, next to Hideaway Cafe. Parking is easy here. Plenty of spots available just outside the eatery.

The cafe itself was cosy and quiet. Customer service was good, we were immediately attended to once seated. They were friendly and accomodating. Food arrived quickly.

Hainanese Chicken Chop, RM25

This was a good chicken chop, finger lickin’ good. Even without the sauce, just eating the fried chicken on its own was da’ bomb. The fried batter was spot on. It was not too crispy, had a softer crunch to it. There was certainly some flavoring added to it because biting into that chicken was delightful, yummy. With the sauce, it was even better. Besides the delicious chicken, the dish also included potato wedges and a side of greens.

Pad Kra Phrao Pasta, RM 23

When it came to ordering our second dish, we could not decide between a rice dish, Pad Kra Phrao and a pasta dish. After conveying our dilemma, they suggested to us Pad Kra Phrao Pasta, a combination of both … which was not in their menu. As soon as we heard it, we got excited because it isn’t everyday that one comes across a noodle version of this Thai rice dish.

The pasta was yummy. It tasted like Pad Kra Phrao minus the rice with plenty of mince chicken, basil and an egg. Yummm!

I enjoyed my visit to Ernie Mansion and look forward to dropping by soon for another visit. I would not mind at all giving the chicken chop another go.

FEEKA at Happy Mansion, Section 17, PJ – Nicee (Pork free)

I stumbled upon this new cafe while doing my regular cruise around the blocks, once every few months. For some reason, I like Happy Mansion. It’s one of those spots I visit whenever I am on my own. Every now and then, I’d come by a new eatery and would be all giddy to give it a try.

This time, I came across FEEKA, 2 month old. It is located in Block B and occupies a corner lot, took over a space that was formerly occupied by Butter + Beans. FEEKA may be in a corner lot but it is small, especially during lunch hour, it will get filled up rather quickly. I’ve always been a fan of FEEKA, a regular visitor to their Jalan Mesui, Bukit Bintang outlet for several years. Seeing this brand readily available closer to home certainly got me excited.

I visited the cafe for brunch and it was not crowded … yet. Just the way I liked it because it made it easier to enjoy the ambiance when there are less people around. The interior has a rather woody rustic feel to it, a brightly lit space thanks to the large glass windows.

Eggs Benedict with Cured Salmon, RM 28

Food was good. If you like your eggs runny, the ones here were a little too well done. I had no problem with it because I have an aversion towards anything runny, lol. I do not enjoy my dish soggy and so, the almost well done eggs were awesome. Having it with the cured salmon and slices of sourdough were yummy.

Coco Vanilla, RM 18

This drink I ordered because I saw it on the table next to me, looked nice 😊. Coco Vanilla includes chocolate, espresso, milk, vanilla syrup, biscuit crumbs and whip cream. I initially went right into it, without mixing everything up and what would immediately hit you is the espresso, a rather strong dose. Once I mixed everything together though, the taste of chocolate was evident and the drink overall was milder than before in terms of the coffee biterness. It was a nice mix of milky sweetness. A good blend of chocolate and coffee. It was nice.
