Cacio E Pepe Garlic Chili Anchovy Butter New 2026 : February Pasta Pork Free Viral Wisma Cosway food

Francobolli Pasta at Wisma Cosway, KL – The new viral pasta spot, a chaotic mess (No pork)

Officially opened just over a week ago, Francobolli Pasta is already making waves on social media platforms. I’ve completely lost count of the countless videos showcasing this Italian restaurant, with enthusiastic praise for the fresh pasta they serve. Located on Level 1 of Wisma Cosway in Bukit Bintang, this establishment has confidently stepped into the spotlight as a secondary venture, building on their successful primary business of supplying pasta to various restaurants and cafes in the area.

Long waiting line at Francobolli

If one intends to dine at Francobolli, it is advisable to be prepared for an long waiting period. I made two visits to the establishment before I was able to savor their cuisine. On my first visit, I arrived at 12:30 PM and was required to wait for 40 minutes, only to be informed that they had sold out of all their pasta dishes – which is literally the only items they serve in addition to Tiramisu. On my second visit, I arrived earlier, at 12:00 PM, and waited until 1:00 PM to be seated. The food was served 25 minutes later, yet, regrettably, their Tiramisu was sold out.

Small space, large crowd

The restaurant features a small layout, resulting in a crowded atmosphere during peak hours, which can occasionally feel stuffy. Customers often find themselves in close proximity to one another—this interaction is an integral aspect of the dining experience. In the absence of the availability of an individual table, guests are seated at the long high table positioned against the wall, sharing a spot with other customers.

Menu

*** FYI : If you visit 1pm and beyond, be prepared for them to run out of everything on their Menu, which essetially are three options of pasta only. Their Tiramisu is sold out even before that 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

At this point, Francobolli has been in operation for a week, and one would expect that they would have familiarized themselves with the crowd by now; however, their operations remain as chaotic as during my first visit, with items frequently selling out hours before closing time.

Customers place their orders through a uniquely printed QR code that is distributed for individual use. In instances where the volume of orders are overwhelming—particularly given that only one chef is cooking—incoming customers can expect to experience delays until the order flow subsides. Haiyaaaaaaaa 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

Cacio E Pepe Pecorino Evoo, RM 28

This dish was a let down. After an hour-long wait, the plate of pasta failed to meet expectations. True to the essence of Cacio e Pepe, one can immediately taste the pairing of cheese and pepper; however, beyond this familiar taste, the dish lacks any elements that would engage my interest. While it does require skill to harmonize the strong, distinct flavors of cheese and pepper without one overpowering the other – credits to the chef, yet I will not be reordering this dish. Furthermore, the choice of rigatoni was not to my liking, as I would have preferred spaghetti or linguine instead.

Garlic Chili Anchovy Butter, RM 26

This pasta dish was heaps better than the Cacio E Pepe. The freshly cooked linguine provided an ideal al dente texture that complemented the sauce well. Each strand was generously coated with a smooth, buttery oil that glistened invitingly, while the rich and aromatic flavor of garlic was evident in every bite, enhancing the overall experience. A simple dish it was and certainly better than the other dish we tried.

But was it worth standing in line for an hour for? No.

Would I revisit Francobolli? No.

Fish & Chips Good fish & chips in KL Homemade tartar Lemonade Mashed peas Pork Free Wisma Cosway food

Boys Don’t Fry at Wisma Cosway, Kuala Lumpur – Fish & Chips (Pork free)

We recently had the opportunity to dine at the popular establishment located in Wisma Cosway, which specializes exclusively in ONE offering: Fish & Chips. Originally named Lad & Fry, it garnered significant popularity; however, it permanently closed shortly after its initial launch. Not too long later, they reopened and renamed Boys Don’t Fry.

The restaurant is situated in a modest corner shop lot on the Ground Floor. Currently open exclusively for lunch, with plans to extend operating hours to include breakfast in the near future, one can anticipate a bustling atmosphere, particularly during weekdays. Office folks from upstairs frequently visit to enjoy the fish and chips. Fortunately, tables empty quickly, ensuring that customers do not have to wait long for seating.

Menu

Boys Don’t Fry only offers ONE dish – Fish & Chips Set.

Fish & Chips Set, RM 38

The Fish & Chips Set comprises a fillet encased in a crisp exterior woth a good portion of fish filling, served atop a bed of chips/fries. This Set is accompanied by a side of homemade tartar sauce, mashed peas, pickled radish and cucumber. Additionally, a Lemonade is included. Food was good, particularly the fish. The delicate, crispy outer layer provided a pleasurable contrast upon biting.

The downside with this Set is that it is accompanied by a fixed quantity of items. Personally, I prefer the classic serving of fish and chips, which includes fish and chips paired with tartar sauce. This portion is filling in itself. I found the sides to be too much, and I had to compel myself to finish them because I spent RM 38 for it. So, it would be great if the option to choose between including or excluding the sides were made available.

Overall, the quality of the food was good. However, I am unlikely to return for another visit. Wisma Cosway is situated at a considerable distance from my location, and I can reasonably find alternative restaurants serving similar dishes in closer proximity. Furthermore, I would prefer to forgo the side dishes, which renders the RM 38 spent excessive. Therefore, I am unlikely to revisit Boys Don’t Fry.

Address: 74, Ground Floor, Wisma Cosway, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

Opening hours: Mondays to Saturdays, 11 am to 2.45 pm.

Chinese Dry Pan Mee foodcourt Noodles Not Halal Wan Tan Mee Wisma Cosway food

Mak’kar at Wisma Cosway, KL – A mini food court tucked in a corner (Not Halal)

We found ourselves at Wisma Cosway following our visit to the CIMB Bank located adjacent to it. It has been less than a year since our last visit, and it appears that quite a few food and beverage establishments have commenced operations in this vicinity since then. Most of our previous visits occurred during the evening, and it is possible that the atmosphere varies significantly between night and day. Our initial intention was to dine at the well-known fish and chips restaurant, Lad & Fry; however, to my surprise, it appears to be permanently closed. Did it not just open a few months ago?

Visiting Wisma Cosway during the lunch hour on a weekday is indeed a noteworthy experience. It appears that a majority of the working individuals from the upper floors converge on the lower level to dine. The atmosphere is quite vibrant and colorful. After exploring the Ground and First floors, we found ourselves in a corner featuring a long queue. The setup of this floor consists of shop lots of varied sizes, and this specific area comprises two dining establishments – Kantan and Mak’kar. For our lunch selection, we chose to try Mak’kar, which resembled a mini food court. It was bustling with activity, and every table was occupied. As a result, we opted to pass the time with a drink downstairs before returning around 2 pm. By that time, Mak’kar was somewhat empty.

Parking: Visitor carpark available in the basement of Wisma Cosway, at a cost of RM 4 for first hour, RM 3 for subsequent hours.

There is limited information available regarding this establishment online. It appears to be one of those establishments set up to cater to the office folks in the area. Approximately five to six food stalls are present, offering a variety of dishes such as Chicken Chop Rice, Wan Tan Mee, Pan Mee, Hor Fun, and Pork Noodles. We chose to sample the noodles offered at this location.

Dry Pan Mee, RM 12 (Big) + Wan Tan Mee, RM 10 (Big)

Wan Tan Mee
Pan Mee (Dry)

The Wan Tan Noodles presented a simple yet satisfying experience. The flavors were reminiscent of those typically encountered in traditional Chinese coffee shops. While the pork strips were tastefully seasoned, they were not the sweet and succulent char siu that I personally favor. The noodles were light and had a pleasing springiness.

As for the Dry Pan Mee, the stall provides three choices of noodles: flat, thin, and thick. We chose the thin option, and our dish was served within a span of five minutes. The dish was quite flavorful, with the noodles generously coated in a rich ketchup sauce that appealed to my taste. I appreciated the ample portions of minced meat, mushrooms, and crunchy elements included. After thoroughly mixing the dish, there were sufficient amount of toppings that remained until the very last bite. If there was one thing I can change, it would pertain to the texture of the noodles; I personally find chewy noodles less enjoyable, a characteristic that was present in this instance. Aside from that, this dish was decent.

Would I consider returning? I am open to revisiting Mak’kar to explore the other dishes available. Regarding the dishes we sampled, although they were decent, they did not leave a lasting impression. Should I be working in the vicinity, and I regularly visit this area, I could envision myself enjoying these dishes once more. However, if I were traveling from the opposite side of town to Wisma Cosway with the intention of having lunch here, then I would not. The two noodle dishes we tasted are not worth coming all the way for. You’d be able to find better options elsewhere.

Address: First Floor, Wisma Cosway. (Next to Kantan)
