Bangsar Muslim Friendly Okonomiyaki Seafood Don Rice Bowl Salmon don Second outlet

Three Guys Cafe at Bangsar – A new addition (Muslim friendly)

We recently visited Three Guys Cafe, a new addition to Telawi, Bangsar food scene. This eatery that has been garnering positive reviews in my social media feed. Motivated by a previous pleasant experience at their first outlet, I was compelled to pay a visit, hoping for a similar experience here.

We arrived at the restaurant during lunchtime and found that the indoor seating area was fully occupied. As a result, we were seated outside. The new outlet has noticeably expanded in size. Furthermore, they have maintained a serene and tranquil atmosphere by incorporating earthy color palettes, greenery, and an impressive library of books.

Having visited both outlets though, I personally prefer their first outlet at MAHSA – Three Guys Cafe @ MAHSA Avenue, PJ – Yummmmm 😍 (Pork free). The first outlet, although smaller, had a more intimate atmosphere. Additionally, the staff were friendlier compared to the waiters at this particular one. In their defense, it was quite crowded and they were busy attending to customers. Therefore, I cannot entirely blame them. Nevertheless, while both outlets were visually appealing, I found the first outlet of Three Guys Cafe to be more preferable, especially in regards to the intimate and personal setting it provides.

Menu

Okonomiyaki Seafood Don, RM24

Believe it or not, the dish I ordered at their MAHSA outlet was this exact dish. Unbeknownst to me at the time of placing my order, I had chosen it again. Once again, I relished in the rice bowl that contained all of my favored ingredients. The dish consisted of crabstick, prawn, bonito flakes, smoke duck, 2 sunny side up eggs, okonomiyaki sauce and mayo.

This dish is undeniably satisfying, with its inclusion of both meat and seafood. Overall, the dish possessed a mildly sweet flavor that was quite appealing.

Salmon Don, RM30

According to the waiter, this was one of their popular dishes. Regrettably, this dish did not meet my expectations, as its flavors lacked the desired impact. Comprised of rice, egg, salmon, and sambal, the sambal played a crucial role by providing the essential element that unified the dish. Without it, the overall flavor would have been rather bland. The reasons behind its underwhelming taste remain unclear to me, but it is evident that this dish fell short of my culinary preferences, especially compared to the Okonomiyaki rice bowl.

Bangsar Good vegetarian food in Bangsar Indian Muslim Friendly No MSG No Soy Open Daily Vegetarian

Pure Saiva at Bangsar – Tasty Indian vegetarian food 😍

PJ New Town’s popular Indian vegetarian restaurant, Pure Saiva, has recently opened a second outlet in Bangsar. My liking for this brand dates back to its inception a few years ago. Undoubtedly, their vegetarian cuisine is tasty. Furthermore, their immaculate white-themed establishment with a simple setup, truly encapsulates the essence of their culinary offerings – clean, simple, and health-conscious with no use of MSG and SOY.

Rice with 3 vegetables, RM 12

Vege 1: Fried Plantain/banana
Vege 2: Tauhu Sambal
Vege 3: Spinach
Papadam, Rasam & Payasam

Another aspect I appreciate about Pure Saiva is its capacity to maintain the consistency of its food. The flavors remained the same regardless of the outlet visited.

For RM 12, one can savor a nourishing lunch that consists of rice accompanied by a choice of three vegetables, along with payasam, rasam, and papadam. Despite the variety of options available, I decided to indulge in fried plantain, tauhu sambal, and spinach as my vegetables of choice. The overall taste of the food resembled that of a homecooked meal, without overpowering artificial flavors or excess salt. It was a simple yet tasty.

Overall, I enjoyed a satisfying meal at Pure Saiva and anticipate returning for another delightful experience.

Address: 20, Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar, KL.

Bangsar Cakes Good cakes Good cakes in Bangsar Hazelnut Spread Jalan Bangkung New 2021 : Dec Pistachio Slice

Plump @ Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar – Oooo man, delicious cakes 😍😍

Sometimes, the urge for something sweet and decadent hits you out of nowhere and so starts the craving for a good plate of dessert. It was during one of these times that we ended up at Plump.

As you drive passed the row of shops along Jalan Bangkung, at first glance, you’d most probably miss it because there is no clear signage to indicate its existence. Plump is located on the first floor, above Opus. So, look out for Opus.

It was full house when we arrived. It catches you by surprise, the crowd. Why? because from the ground floor, you cant really see anything. There was no indication whatsoever that this was a well liked cafe. We simply assumed that this was just another cafe in the area and we were wrong. The full house only hits you when you reach the front door. Almost all the tables were fully occupied, we snagged the last available one.

Lots of catching up sessions were taking place during our visit. A boisterous environment, for sure. Chatters and laughter all over.

They offer about 20 cakes to choose from 😍😍. All looked soo good that decision making was a tough onebut after much deliberation, we landed on two 😁

Hazelnut Slice, RM 22 + Pistachio Slice RM 22

Yes, I agree, the price of the cakes here are at a higher price point. At RM 22, you’re essentially paying a few ringgit more that the usual cake cost at other cafes but the cakes here are good. Not only that, you’d get a good portion of each ingredient as displayed in the images below.

Hazelnut Slice
Pistachio Slice

Both cakes were tasty. To me, the cake base had similar texture to a sujee cake, a little more dense here perhaps. Each slice came with a generous portion size which makes up for the high price point, I suppose. Nowhere else of late have I been served a slice of cake with as many berries as I did here.

The Pistachio Slice came with about 6,7 pieces of strawberries with a good sprinkle of crushed pistachio and cream. It had just the right amount of sweetness and there was a tiny bit of sourness from the strawberries.

While both cakes were tasty, I liked the Hazelnut Slice the best. That hazelnut spread was da’ bomb. It tasted similar to Nutella but the one here was thicker and gooey-er? The cake texture was similar to the Pistachio Slice, not too sweet too. When eaten with the hazelnut spread, sweetness was just right. For this cake, there was a choice between berries and pear as a topping, I opted for berries. I liked it, the combination.

In the future, I wouldn’t mind dropping by to indulge in more cakes here.
