Bangsar Muslim Friendly Okonomiyaki Seafood Don Rice Bowl Salmon don Second outlet

Three Guys Cafe at Bangsar – A new addition (Muslim friendly)

We recently visited Three Guys Cafe, a new addition to Telawi, Bangsar food scene. This eatery that has been garnering positive reviews in my social media feed. Motivated by a previous pleasant experience at their first outlet, I was compelled to pay a visit, hoping for a similar experience here.

We arrived at the restaurant during lunchtime and found that the indoor seating area was fully occupied. As a result, we were seated outside. The new outlet has noticeably expanded in size. Furthermore, they have maintained a serene and tranquil atmosphere by incorporating earthy color palettes, greenery, and an impressive library of books.

Having visited both outlets though, I personally prefer their first outlet at MAHSA – Three Guys Cafe @ MAHSA Avenue, PJ – Yummmmm 😍 (Pork free). The first outlet, although smaller, had a more intimate atmosphere. Additionally, the staff were friendlier compared to the waiters at this particular one. In their defense, it was quite crowded and they were busy attending to customers. Therefore, I cannot entirely blame them. Nevertheless, while both outlets were visually appealing, I found the first outlet of Three Guys Cafe to be more preferable, especially in regards to the intimate and personal setting it provides.

Menu

Okonomiyaki Seafood Don, RM24

Believe it or not, the dish I ordered at their MAHSA outlet was this exact dish. Unbeknownst to me at the time of placing my order, I had chosen it again. Once again, I relished in the rice bowl that contained all of my favored ingredients. The dish consisted of crabstick, prawn, bonito flakes, smoke duck, 2 sunny side up eggs, okonomiyaki sauce and mayo.

This dish is undeniably satisfying, with its inclusion of both meat and seafood. Overall, the dish possessed a mildly sweet flavor that was quite appealing.

Salmon Don, RM30

According to the waiter, this was one of their popular dishes. Regrettably, this dish did not meet my expectations, as its flavors lacked the desired impact. Comprised of rice, egg, salmon, and sambal, the sambal played a crucial role by providing the essential element that unified the dish. Without it, the overall flavor would have been rather bland. The reasons behind its underwhelming taste remain unclear to me, but it is evident that this dish fell short of my culinary preferences, especially compared to the Okonomiyaki rice bowl.
