Ikura Ebi Katsu Sando meat and vegetarian options new cafe PJ Dec 2023 Open Daily Pesto Linguine Pork Free Sandwich

RAYs at B.Land,Seksyen 51a, PJ – A new addition

Being a foodie, one of my favorite spots to hang out on this side of town is B.Land. With its expansive layout, embracing a warehouse concept with individual spaces housing a handful of culinary establishments offering a wide range of cuisines, it is easy to comprehend why it attracts a large number of patrons. One of the recent additions, at just over a week old is RAYs.

If my recollection is accurate, slightly more than a year ago, I found myself seated precisely in this location, indulging in a drink at a bar. Indeed, if my memory serves me correctly, this establishment used to be a bar. One that exuded a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Contrasting this image with its current appearance, there is a remarkable change. Presently, it emanates an ambiance that is bright, vibrant, and inviting.

Menu

Ikura Ebi Katsu Sando, RM 35

Between this dish and Pulled Beef Cheese Toastie, which are two of their crowd favorites, I opted for the Katsu sandwich. You may be wondering why this sando cost 35 ringgit? Firstly, unlike the traditional chicken katsu, this sandwich features Ebi Katsu, made from shrimp meat. Additionally, it includes Ikura, which refers to the salmon caviar visible as orange round toppings on the meat in the image above. Undoubtedly, the sandwich boasts of high-quality ingredients. While the katsu itself was slightly firmer than my preference, its flavor did not disappoint. The combination of the soft and buttery brioche bun enhanced the overall deliciousness of the dish. Rest assured, the sandwich provided a satisfying and filling experience. Additionally, the dish came with a side option of either fries or salad, and I chose the former.

Pesto Linguine, RM 25

This dish is a vegetarian option consisting of linguine pasta accompanied by fragrant sweet basil, Parmigiano cheese, pesto sauce, and a scattering of pumpkin seeds. While I typically prefer my pasta to be accompanied with meat, this particular dish proved to be delightful in its meatless state. The distinct flavor of the pesto was evident with each bite, while the generous sprinkle of pumpkin seeds added a pleasing crunch to an otherwise rich and substantial meal. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish in its simplicity.
