Opened just a week ago is the latest dessert cafe in Petaling Jaya. Located in Taman Paramount, Nareo Donut is swiftly attracting notice, especially among dessert connoisseurs, for its freshly baked doughnuts. These tender, airy, and fluffy pastries come in a range of distinctive and delightful flavors here.
They provide a variety of doughnuts featuring a distinctive blend of flavors such as Matcha Cheesecake, Mandarin Yuzu, and Coconut Kaya. I was informed that the top-tier doughnuts are the bestsellers and favorites among customers, thus I naturally made my selections from this exclusive range.
Mandarin Yuzu, RM 12.50 + Matcha Cheesecake, RM 12
I thoroughly enjoyed the Mandarin Yuzu doughnut. It is topped with a sweet white layer reminiscent of meringue and filled with Mandarin Yuzu cream – delicate sweetness and hints of tanginess from the citrus, making it a delightful treat. The pleasant flavors complement the soft, pillowy pastry, creating a pleasurable eating experience.
For fans of desserts who prefer a less sweet flavor profile, the Matcha Cheesecake presents an ideal choice. This confection features a matcha-infused filling, offering a subtly bitter foundation complemented by delicate notes of sweetness. The cheesecake component, while understated, leaves a discernible impression with each indulgent bite.
Would I return to Nareo? Although I enjoy desserts, particularly doughnuts are not the type of dessert I usually prefer. While I cannot deny that what I sampled here was indeed tasty, this will probably be a once in a blue moon affair for me.
