Sik Thong Ba at Damansara Uptown, PJ – A new dessert cafe serving yummy soupy desserts (Muslim friendly)

It was late at night, and I was craving some light, refreshing desserts. I found myself driving to Damansara Uptown because I was hopeful of finding a dessert spot open until late night. The late hour also meant that parking was much easier, giving me the freedom to park and stroll around as I pleased, and possibly discover some new gems in the process.

This is how I came to discover Sik Thong Ba. As I walked past a row of shops at 10:30 pm, I noticed that while most eateries had closed by 10 pm, this dessert cafe was bustling with customers, almost at full capacity. The stark contrast it presented compared to its surroundings was what captured my attention and convinced me to visit. Sik Thong Ba is a recent addition to the F&B scene at Damansara Uptown, having officially opened just last month.

Apologies for the limited visual documentation of the cafe setting. My phone battery was depleted, resulting in a scarcity of photos. The establishment boasted a modern yet simple setup, with effective air conditioning providing ample ventilation. Despite the lively and boisterous environment, the setting was conducive enough to allow me to comfortably savor my dessert in the midst of it all.

Menu

Eight Treasure, RM 12.90

Thick and sweet red bean, jelly, pearl
Pearl, Taro balls, Tau Fu Fah with Ginger soup and sweet syrup

This dessert was quite delightful and satisfying. Upon its conclusion, I found myself content and satisfied with a full stomach. If you appreciate a wholesome dessert, this could prove to be an excellent option.

The dish comprises a substantial serving of Tau Fu Fah with Ginger Soup, accompanied by several sides: a portion of thick and sweet red bean, jelly, pearl, taro balls, and a serving of sweet syrup. The experience of adding each side dish into the bowl of tau fu fah and thoroughly mixing it was thoroughly enjoyable and so was eating it

Mango Sago Supreme, RM 11.90

As its name suggests, this chilled dessert is centered around mango and sago. Fans of mango will undoubtedly relish this dessert, as the predominant flavor in every spoonful is mango. It comprises mango ice cream, mango soup with sago, and pieces of the sweet fruit. Personally, I do not usually favor cold soupy desserts, but I must concede that upon sampling it, my palate did delight in its flavor.

Plum Sweet Potato, RM 8.90

The fries were delectable, exhibiting a delightful sweetness and a satisfying crispiness. This savory dish serves as a delightful addition, particularly suitable for those seeking a lighter option.

Would I head back here for another visit? Oooo yes, I most certainly will. As they offer quite the variety, I look forward to trying out many other items here.
