After One at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, KL (Pork free)

After a work meet nearby, we decided to have a quick lunch at this two month old cafe, After One. We dropped by during lunch hour yesterday and it was crowded, full house. Waiting time for a table was 20 minutes.

Parking: The cafe is located along a narrow road that is a cul-de-sac. If you are lucky, you can park at the cafe entrance itself, about 3-4 cars can fit. Otherwise, there are 2 open carparks a few doors away, at an hourly rate of RM 5 and RM 7 respectively. If you visit during peak hours though, as we did, both carparks will be fully occupied. So, we had no choice, we parked opposite the road instead.

Menu

So, looking through their Menu, the first thing that caught my eye were their waffles. It has been a long while since I’ve last indulged in this particular dessert and was looking forward to it …. only to be told that all waffles were sold out. Haiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ……….

Ham & Cheese Croissant, RM12

Since I did not get my waffle, this pastry would do. It was a nice, fluffy croissant with a sweet coating on the top and a filling of cheese and ham. Niceee

Tomato Spicy Shrimp Pasta, RM 32 + Moroccan Chicken, RM 32

Food was good. The Moroccan Chicken had the usual flavors one would expect with this particular cuisine. The meat was dense and tender, a delight to bite into. The dish included roasted vegetables and couscous. If you fancy a dish that is both healthy and filling, Moroccan Chicken could tick your box.

The Tomato Spicy Shrimp Pasta was nice. I am a fan of fettuccine and so, this dish suited me. The dish also came 5 medium sized prawns, seaweed and basil. I liked that the tomato sauce here was a basic marinara sauce, there was added flavoring to it, at times there were some sweetness here are there. The seaweed provided its own unique taste to the pasta. I liked it.

Would I head back here? Most likely not. Food is good but it simply is a matter of personal preference. Firstly, I rarely am in the area and secondly, in those rare occasions I am, I’d rather go check out a new place. After One was new, now it is done and dusted πŸ™‚ . That being said, knowing my friends, they would certainly enjoy a visit to After One, so, I’ll keep this eatery in mind.
