A Little Bud Florist Cafe at TTDI – Aesthetically pleasing interior, food somewhat a letdown 🤷‍♂️(Pork free)

Since watching some online videos, I have been wanting to visit this particular café. Given my penchant for elegant and aesthetically pleasing interiors, it is inevitable that I would eventually venture into A Little Bud. Situated on the first floor, along Persiaran Zaaba, this café boasts a refined ambiance, characterized by a subdued beige color palette and a rustic theme, tastefully decorated with dried flowers adorning the walls. It exudes an immediate sense of tranquility, making it inviting and exudes a calm and easy vibe.

Ooo yes, I liked the ambiance. In some ways, it is able to transports you to another place, temporarily.

Here, one is required to place your order and pay before you get your food. Considering our moderate appetite, my companion and I deliberated on choosing either the Sourdough with Pesto & Egg or the one with Salmon & Egg, aiming for a palatable yet light option. Debating our preference, we sought the input of the gentleman tending the counter, seeking his guidance on the better choice between the two. Based on his recommendation, we opted for the pesto open sandwich, promptly placing our order and completing the payment process.

When we placed our order, there were only two other occupied tables. One table had already received their drinks. As a result, it did not occur to me to inquire about the estimated waiting time for our food. Regrettably, the waiting period proved to be unexpectedly lengthy. As time passed, several additional customers arrived, and we observed that their orders were promptly served. Huh?? At this point, approximately 25 minutes had passed. Understandably frustrated, my companion decided to approach the counter and cancel our order. However, we were informed that the food was nearly ready. Why was not the cake served first if the open sandwich was taking time? It seemed as though the staff at the counter had forgotten about our presence. It was only after my companion expressed the intention to cancel our order that the staff member approached our table, offering apologies for the prolonged wait. Eventually, the cake was brought to our table. However, by this time, 30 minutes had passed since we initially placed our order. Another 10 minutes elapsed before the open sandwich appeared.

Sourdough with Salmon and Egg, RM 20

After all the long wait, he served us the wrong dish. This was not what we ordered. We ordered Sourdough with Pesto and Egg, remember? Haiyaaaaa. We ate it anyway because it was highly likely we would have to wait another 30 minutes for the new dish. No way, we have already wasted too much time waiting. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

RM 20 for this dish? A sourdough with a thin, barely there slice of salmon with an egg and a side of salad. The fish did not even cover half the bread. RM 20 for this? Good thing we only paid RM 15 though. What we paid was for a Pesto and Egg Sourdough, which we never got. In its place was this pricier open sandwich. Tastewise, it tasted as it should.

Russian Honey Cake, RM 26

Both my friend and I are fans of Russion Honey cake and upon reading positive reviews on the one served here, we opted to give it a try.

Upon its arrival at our table, our initial reactions were quite similar. We noticed that the slice of cake was unexpectedly petite. While we are well aware that Russian cakes usually bear a higher price tag, they typically come in a standard cake size. This particular cake, however, appeared small. In terms of taste, it was pleasant, but it lacked the soft, crumbly layer that I personally favor. It is worth noting that not all Russian Honey cakes are alike, and my preference lies in the inclusion of this specific layer. Furthermore, the honey flavor itself was quite mild. Though it had an acceptable taste, I would not choose to order it again.

Would I head back here? After the experience I’ve had, no. No I will not be back for another visit. Once was enough. I did enjoy the ambiance. It’s calm and relaxed vibe was something I liked. The food – from how long it took to arrive to how small certain items were, I would not use the word ‘affordable’ here.
