Raaj Tea Palace at Villa Scott, Brickfields - Indian Tea, coffee and desserts (Pork free)

A new café has recently opened in Brickfields. Officially opened yesterday (15th October), the establishment can be found on the Ground floor of Villa Scott Condominium, just a few doors down from the popular Ceylonese restaurant – Ceylon Flavors. Known as Raaj Tea Palace, this unique café specializes in offering a good range of Indian tea, coffee, and desserts. What sets Raaj Tea Palace apart is its all-day availability of tea time delights, catering to patrons from morning till night. There is no longer a restriction on indulging in tea time specials exclusively during the late afternoon or early evening hours.

The size of the cafe took me by surprise. As I have been to Ceylon Flavors, it made sense to assume the sizing would be similar. Just from outside looking in, judging by the sheer number of people inside the eatery, I fully expected to be on the waiting list but to my surprise, the space was bigger than anticipate. I barely had to wait a minute to be seated. It was comfortable, the cafe was well ventilated. Customer service was good. The folks there were friendly and welcoming. I immediately felt at ease. Drinks arrived within five minutes.

Masala Chai, RM 6 + Rose Milk, RM 5

I had intended to try Kerala Coffee, but regrettably it was unavailable. As a result, I opted for their Masala Chai and Rose Milk instead. I found both drinks to be quite enjoyable. The Masala Chai possessed a delightful infusion of masala, which permeated every sip. As for the Rose Milk, it resembled Rose Bandung, albeit with a richer milk base. Judging by the numerous tables adorned with glasses of this pink beverage, it is evidently a crowd favorite. Both drinks were lightly sweetened and boasted a nice milky consistency that satisfied my palate.

Overall, I enjoyed my short time here. It is highly likely that I would be dropping by for another visit soon. I look forward to trying their Kerala Coffee and Thalapathy Tea.
