Asian Fusion Big Breakfast Coffee desserts Halal Pasta Soft Shell Crab

Naj & Belle @ Bangsar (Halal) – Yum yummm

Naj & Belle is located along Jalan Tandok. Know where that is? You guys know where APW Jalan Riong is, right? Yea, if you are at the traffic light in front of APW, turn left and you’d see Naj & Belle, which faces the University Kuala Lumpur  (UniKL) hostel?

The eatery is well designed. I kindda like what they did with the place. It was cozy and with the sunlight coming in through the glass panels, made it all warm and bright.

Naj & Belle has a fancy feel to it and this is also reflected in their food pricing. It is not over-the-top pricey but still a lil higher than the average.

Overall customer service was good???? Well, orders were taken and the right dishes did arrive at my table swiftly, so I cant complain but on a serious note – the guy that took my order, he does not smile. Literally the whole hour I was there, he never smiled.  At one point, he cleaned a table, took the dishes and leftovers into the kitchen, dropped a couple of spoons on the floor and next thing I know – he literally shouts “Janganlah letak tu di sini!!” to whoever he was communicating with in the kitchen . Talk about PMSing, ey? Lol. Smilela brader…

I’ve heard plenty of ravings when it came to their signature Watermelon Cake and was looking forward to trying it here. Sadly though, the cake was only available after lunch. Their dessert area was literally empty when I arrived. Halfway through my meal, I saw a bunch of guys bringing in boxes of desserts and by the time it was put on display, my stomach was full. Ooo well, there is always next time, right?

Naj Big Breakfast, 35 ringgit

This was delicious. You would get a generous amount of  scrambled egg (comes in 3 options: scrambled, fried or poached) + mushrooms + beef bacon + chicken sausage + spinach + baked tomato + potato + a slice of sourdough. All the items on the dish tasted awesome, loved every bit of it. It certainly was a hearty breakfast with this dish, I just wish it was not as pricey as it was though. I cant think of another eatery that cost me 35 ringgit for a big breakfast.

Soft Shell Crab Linguine, 29 ringgit

If you feel like having a plate of pasta that is creamy, milky, buttery – then do consider this dish. They made the dish a lil more ‘Asian’ with the addition of curry leaves and chili. When you get your first taste of it, it has a salted egg yolk flavor to it and then, the more you chew, the more it changes. The chili will hit you, then the spices. The combination of all these flavors made it really yummy. Ooo and the soft shell crab was an awesome addition, it provided the much needed crunch to this dish.

Would I head back here?

Hmmm, I guess I will but this would be an eatery I visit once in a blue moon. The food was good but the price? Most of the items served here cost 30 ringgit and above.  Pricier than the usual I am accustomed to.
