Ray Power Corner at Jalan Sultan, Petaling Street, KL – Satay, Fried Rice & Mee Goreng 😍 (pork free)

Since I was not going anywhere for the CNY holiday, I figured I’d go where the tourist go and immerse myself in the whole jovial, boisterous environment. Furthermore, pretty much most of my food visits here happened during the day and if there is one thing about Petaling Street, it is its ability to transform into a jovial, loud, boisterous environment at night compared to a mellowed down, serious version in the noon. So yea, I was looking forward to it.

I’ve seen Ray Power Corner several times when I do my drive-bys and in the evenings especially, they seem to be doing really well. My visit there would be a perfect time to drop by for a taste. They’ve apparently been around for 30 years and pretty much everything I’ve heard of them are positive. Word on the street is that they serve good, mouthwatering ‘Goreng’ food here …. fried rice, fried noodles and etc.

*** For easy reference, Ray Power Corner is a stall by the roadside, located within walking distance from REXKL and directly opposite Bee Cheng Hiang. Method of payment: they accept cash and QR Pay here.

Food was delicious. The Chicken Satay cost RM 2 per pieces and it comes in a set of 5 and 10. We opted for the set of 5, just to have a taste and it was yummy. The outer layer was sweet with a touch of crispyness here and there while the chicken meat was tender and juicy. As I am not a fan of the fats they include, I was happy that it was not included in the satay sold here. No fats, all meat.

As for the ‘Goreng’ items, it sure was goood. I especially loved the Mee Hoon Mee Goreng. If you like Mamak style fried noodles, the ones here would certainly satisfy you. For both the fried rice and the noodles, the meat option available is chicken and seafood. They are also vegetarian friendly, based on request. Honestly, with or without the meat, I would still eat it because it tasted good as it was. The Kampung Fried Rice was a combination of anchovies, egg, vegetables, chicken, flavorful rice. With the large portion size, one is guaranteed to leave with a full belly.

I had a positive experience here. Would I head back to Ray Power Corner? Yes, I certainly would as I am looking forward to giving the other dishes a try soon.
