desserts Hidden Cafe Karipap Local Kuih Panini Spaghetti Bolognese

BEAM @ Bandar Sri Damansara – Me like :)

For some reason, this cafe reminded me a little of  Bean Brothers ( Bean Brothers @ Sunway Damansara – An Insta-worthy cafe).

Why?

Firstly, this cafe too is located in an industrial/business park. There is simply a charm to is. The ‘hidden’ element. If I didnt know any better, I most probably would have driven passed the area without a second thought because it simply is not the kind of area you’d think a cafe exist, lol.

Secondly, there is the interior …. Sure, Bean Brothers is certainly bigger but they kindda ooze the same feel, vibe.

Thirdly, food too is similar, I suppose. Not a big spread to choose from but they cover the basics – pasta, sandwiches and etc. It is better here, I guess. They certainly offer more dishes here than Bean Brothers, that’s for sure and most importantly – the Menu does not change every other week, lol. One week, you’d get your favorite dish and the next, it is gone, not to be served in a while.  Ooo and their desserts , here besides the usual cakes,  they also offer you local ‘kuihs’ which you do not find there.

Kalipok, 2.60 ringgit + Kuih Kosui, 2.80 ringgit

They call it Kalipok, I call it Karipap. It tasted the same to me. It was good, tasty. I think the regulars fancy it too because by the time I arrived there was only one piece left on display and I grabbed it. It was a chicken + potato combination. I liked this. It had plenty of flavor and the potatoes did not come in an overwhelming amount and size. The Kuih Kosui is as it should taste. Starchy, sticky with pandan flavoring.

Spaghetti Bolognese, 19.50 ringgit + Roasted Chicken Panini, 20 ringgit

We decided to give the Spaghetti a go because it is rare to find Chicken Bolognese. There is plenty of Beef Bolognese here and I’ve had plenty of those but the chicken version – that comes once in a blue moon, lol.  It had the usual Bolognese flavor – the taste of tomato, tomato sauce is dominant, sweet-ish with a tad of spice + shredded chicken meat. It was good.

Now, the Panini, I liked very much. It came with a generous  amount of  chicken + cheese + mayo + tomatoes + cabbage.  The bread was lightly toasted, which meant that it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and then. add in the filling – yummmmm 🙂

Would I head here again?

Yes, I certainly would.
