Affordable Chicken Rice Fish ball soup Steamed Chicken Taugeh

Nasi Ayam Sungai Buloh @ Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh – Steamed Chicken Rice, the best :)

This was another accidental find. Since I had half the day off, my sister and I decided to drive over to Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh to indulge in the famous ‘Hot Plate Pancakes’ …. which upon tasting, I’ve decided that I ain’t driving all the way back here for another round of em’ pancakes. No way. I wasn’t impressed at all. It sure is not my cup of tea.

I was kindda disappointed. There were positive reviews online – from years ago. I would have been oblivious to its existence if it wasn’t for a repost that ended up on my Facebook timeline recently. Anyways, we purchased a few pancakes and we were not impressed. Then, we decided to cross over to the next row of shops to see if we could find something that could make up for the let down we were currently feeling ….. and we came across Nasi Ayam Sungai Buloh which happens to be the best Steamed Chicken Rice I’ve come across in a looong time.

It isn’t just me alone that thinks the steam chicken rice here is da’ bomb, you’d find that many other people share my sentiments too. Do check out the reviews on Google if you don’t believe me. Sooo yummy it was. Now this, I would drive all the way to Sungai Buloh for. Be prepared to wait if you visit during lunch time. This eatery is popular, loads of folks drop by to enjoy a good plate of chicken rice here.Β

Anyways, if you are not familiar with the area, you can get a lil confuse. There is literally a chicken rice shop at every corner here. To prevent confusion, this restaurant is located in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh, along Jalan Public and right next to Deli Mad 19 Cafe.

There are many things that are good here. The rice, it was brownish in color and had a rather unusual taste and texture. It certainly isn’t the normal chicken rice we come across here. I think it is nicely soaked and cooked in chicken broth?? and there were bits and pieces of ginger in it too for some added taste. I definitely do not mind having it again. The chicken is the best. Soft and moist with just the right amount of chewyness. Loveeeee it! The taugeh was well seasoned and the fish balls were tasty. Overall, it definitely is one of the best steamed chicken rice I’ve tasted in a looong time.
